Note that the “Updater.apk” is localized, means it has a different name when the system language has a different name.
I had to switch from French to English to be able to find the “updater” app.
It went well update update & update ![]()
Thanks @Igor_Shotsky it worked! Under APNs I selected ATT Nextgenphone and in the ‘APN Type’ section drop-down added the ‘default’ option and it fixed it. I kept the existing selections ‘mms’ ans ‘xcap’ selected too. Appreciate it!!!
SOLVED
Mobile internet is not working since my update.
Call/text works fine.
I have a US Mobile Lightspeed (T-Mobile) e-sim that has been working fine since I installed it.
When I switch off the sim use toggle, it turns off without error, but when toggled on, it gives me the error: “Something went wrong. Can’t switch SIMs.“.
It seems like it may be a carrier issue, but it is a little coincidental it began just after my update.
I don’t see a flood of similar issues, so this may effect only a small number of people.
I dread trying to explain what Brax is to the US Mobile chat bot.
If anyone here can help I would appreciate it.
Thanks
My APN Type does include “default”
I removed the v15 Updater after the update succeeded
Resetting the APN did not help. Made the switch error go away, but no mobile internet. On the Internet setting page the mobile line shows “T-Mobile 5G UC“ but no usable internet. T Mobile internet and Sim are selected
I updated yesterday
Solved using the “wholesale“ apn settings from this page: https://www.usmobile.com/help/articles/243520
Which are completely different from the default settings, wherever they come from.
Have yo tried resetting app preferences ? That worked for me when internet data didn’t work.
I did reset the APN settings, but that didn’t help much except to remove the sim switching error.
Is there another app preferences that resetting might help?
Not that I know of, sorry. It was the updater app that first started reworking in my situation, but not after a mobile network settings reset, nor after a reset of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. But it was third time lucky with a reset of the app preferences back to default ![]()

Sometimes you have to just keep poking the bear to get it to work…
But sometimes the bear gets you.
I got lucky today.
Just updated my Brax3 from V-6.9 to V-7.0 without jumping through all the hoops, and it went well without any itch. Everything seems to be working fine as far as I can tell… Really liking and enjoying this phone. ![]()
I have the very same question! Hope we get an answer

Asking for those of us with no pressing need to update to 7.0… are there plans for iode to deploy an enhanced updater through the main 6.9 channel, so the sideload that’s presently required can be avoided?
For various reasons, the only way to deploy an updater would have been a full OTA update to a 6.10 version (an f-droid update for example is not possible), and then forcing everyone to update to 6.10 before having access to 7.0. This would have been much heavier than the actual solution, and they are not compatible: we had to choose.
If you want to avoid updating the updater, you can also go the official LineageOS way described here ( iodéOS v7.0 upgrade: important information - #2 by vincent ) and in LineageOS documentation.
Fwiw, I updated to 7 and my constant dropping of calls while WiFi calling seems better now. I noticed WiFi disconnection was fixed as a bug, and hopefully that’s what’s done it.
@vincent can you save me some time? Trying to set up my phone after owning it for months because I knew I’d have difficulties. Boom, right away, no WiFi capability. So I need the update, but need the updater blah, blah, blah
Quick Question: I’m moving from Apple to Brax; how do I update my phone to the new “Updater” to download/install the latest operating system? I can’t get it through the app store, so I assume I have to connect it to my computer and somehow upload the app using the link you provided. Could you help a newbie figure out how to program this pocket computer? I looked for articles on side loading (assuming that’s what I need to do) but I have a crunch project at work. Could you kindly help me? I would really appreciate it and my wife & kids would, too.
Is that some sort of eastern thing…? LOL
Yep. Download the app from the link with your computer, connect a usb cable from your computer to the phone. On the phone, click the USB option to enable file transfer, then move the app over to a directory on the phone (just like it were a USB drive). then on the phone, use your file browser to locate the app file, select it and there should be a dialog to install. Somthing like that, I think.
I was able to download the app file with my phone directly and once it finished it ask me if I wanted to install it.
I maybe misunderstand : you still don’t have wifi ?
EDIT: because if you don’t have wifi or mobile data, you don’t need the fixed updater and have to update the system in another way
I have one of the WiFi routers on the list that wasn’t working and had iodeOS 6.8. Downloaded 7.0 and got the message with the broken link. Learned in this post that I need to update the updater app (patting myself on back to get this far). Now, have to update the updater to be able to install iodeOS 7.0. Looks like that’s working so far. 7.0 has successfully downloaded over my mobile connection (no WiFi). NOW, I have to figure out how to un-update the updater, i.e., find the correct file to download into my Brax so I can uninstall the current updater and reinstall the old updater…. unless the new updater is fine to keep now.
You don’t need any file to downdate the updater, find the updater icon and tap-hold until “App Info” appears and tap it, press the 3 dots on the upper right corner and remove the update of the updater
