IodeOS vs CalyxOS on Brax Pixel 6a

I did a little research comparing these two OS. I’d rather run CalyxOS on my Pixel 6a due to its official support, bootloader relocking, and faster security updates. Preloaded Tor and Signal is also nice, with F-Droid and Aurora Store.

I don’t see a way to remove the BraX3 tag in this post. I’m not addressing that phone.

official support

What do you mean by that?

p.s. I just changed the category for you.

Maybe you weren’t using the offical iodé for the 6a?

I’ve used GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, and iodéOS as my daily driver on my 6a (all of which are officially supported) and all three worked just fine with no problems, good battery life, good camera, etc. All three are bootloader relocked by the installer. Both Calyx and iodé come with f-droid and aurora store by default. Graphene requires more know-how and patience as you have to install an app store yourself.

Just so you know.

Once I finish migrating to the brax3 as my daily driver I’m curious to try out AxionAOSP on the pixel 6a.

This is a good innovative idea>

One more point of clarification is that CalyxOS has pulled all their images and is working to re-tool since their model of building on top of Google’s AOSP source tree for the Pixels is now defunct. We wish them the best, but it will be some time before they will be providing images again, and it is not certain what those eventual builds will entail.

Sorry, was away. My Brax3 has been sitting unused. I don’t recall the research I did back when I posted this that led me to believe CalyxOS has official supt on Pixel 6a. Memory not that good, alas.
