iodeOS wifi connection issues

Changed Internet Services providers. Now Rogers. The new router is a BDA8. The Brax3 connects. The Actiontec router is removed from service.

Can you confirm your new router use WPA3 ?

Hi community.

We’ve engaged more engineers outside iode team to also work on the WiFi issue.
We’ve had a little breakthrough - a change in code that fixed WPA2 issues, but introduced new WPA3 issues. It seems the issue is getting narrowed down and we’re hopeful we can resolve it by the end of this week (weekend included).

Thank you for the patience on this.

What kind of changes in code have been tried? Is it the WPA supplicant or something completely different?

@plamen This is great news. When the fix does arrive, what would be the process for applying it to our phones? Will that involve a reinstall of the OS (which would erase all our apps), or would it be more of an update that would leave our apps and data intact? Just want to be prepared.

Excellent questions. I am also waiting for the response to your question.

On checking the Brax3 Networks Details the Security is WPA3-Personal on the BDA8 modem/router connection.

I can confirm that the ASUS RT-BE88U BE7200 router works.

It is exactly that, yes

It will be an OTA update - just like normal updates.
We will first roll it out as beta, and if everything is fine - release to all shortly after.

What protocol - WPA2?

My original statement was with WPA2/WPA3-Personal. I have since tested it with WPA2-Personal, WPA/WPA2-Personal, and WPA3-Personal and it works with all 3 as well.

Kevin

@plamen Would you please let us know here when that beta is released (or anyone else here who sees the release)?

Excellent. Evidence of good planning and support.

Yes. I will be posting updates to the relevant topics opened for the wifi issue.

The WPA2 fix in the August 30 update did not solve my WiFi problem.

My Brax3 is still not able to connect via WiFi at home.

The Brax3 is literally the only device that has failed to connect to my router.

iodeOS 6.7
Android 15
August 30, 2025
Last checked: September 17, 2025

Router: Actiontec MI424WR-GEN2 Version F
Firmware Version: 20.21.0
Security: WPA2
Supporting 802.11b, g, and n modes

You, too, can still get one of these routers at Amazon.

WiFi connections are working fine at home, with the following devices, using this WPA2-mode router.

iPhone 16
iPhone 15
iPhone 11
iPad Pro 9.7
Samsung Galaxy Tab A7
Sony Bravia TV
(among several other devices, including smartphones owned by guests who have visited our home)

Note that I do not have a SIM card in my Brax3 - I bought the Brax3 with the intention of using it only via WiFi.

I have stayed at three different hotels, since I last posted here. It was at the first hotel where I was first able to connect to WiFi, applying the August 30 update, successfully - with the fix that was supposed to address WPA2 connectivity issues (perhaps it did, for some WPA2 routers, but not for all of them, apparently).

At the second hotel I could not connect to their WiFi. At the third hotel, I was again able to connect, but I have no idea what WiFi routers these hotels are using.

Still waiting for a fix.

Thanks!

Hi,

Same problem at my house. (IodéOS 6.7)

My daughter’s new Brax3 won’t connect to the WiFi of my main router in the living room, on either of the two SSIDs (2GHz/5GHz). The error message is: ‘Saved/Check the password and try again’. The password is correct; we’ve entered it 20 times.

We even shared the WiFi network with the QR code from her old device, but nothing works. However, it connects without any problems to the Devolo repeaters upstairs. I tried restarting my router and resetting the WiFi and Bluetooth settings on the phone, but nothing works…

Finally, I installed a second TP-Link WiFi router on my main box (which hopefully was in my cellar), and now it works, as a temporarily workaround…

I also notice that “WiFi calling” doesn’t work (I need to more deeply dig into that), but I’m not sure if it’s related to this specific issue.

Thank you. Cheers,

Stanwood.

Did anyone ever respond and help her? I’m behind here but I haven’t seen it yet.
