Router is ASUS RT-AX57
Dual Band Wi-Fi Router, Brax3 on 6.6 iode build, security is WPA3-Personal, Frequency 5 GHz. When I first turned on the phone, I connected to my WiFi, even though the phone stated that it was connected to my router, it can’t provide internet. So, I tested that and I was able to download the 6.6 update and install it. Then I went to the browser and did a search for brax.me and went to the site, all with only the WiFi connected. It seems like there’s a bug with the phone’s WiFi information? not sure.

I just tried the update for 8/11/2025 after updating my updater, and no change. Asus AC1900 still check password and try again message.
Exactly.
While my old phone (and other stuff) has no problem to link.
I have just been trying again to confirm.
Does not connect to Sagemcom F@st 5370e.
Connects to public library wifi and to Café wifi.
Connects to wifi via my old Android phones hotspot.
Connects to wifi via HP Elitebook with Win 10.
So wifi seems to work perfectly except with the router.
I have not added a sim card to the phone. Hope this adds a small piece to the puzzle
What is the easiest way to check the wpa_supplicant.conf?
Maybe a faulty generation of the configuration file causes this problem.
How can we access the root filesystem?
@rik Any progress on this issue from the developers? 2 weeks from the start of this thread, and a week since I reported my router. I don’t want to be impatient, but it sucks to have the phone in my hand and not be able to start using it as my new phone. IMO it would’ve been better to keep the phones in beta and delay shipping a while longer until such a major problem was resolved. Too late for that, but progress updates might help us feel a little better. ![]()
Rik, you said about a router that works without DHCP, I found this on Archwiki paragraph 6.3
For some (noncompliant) routers, you will not be able to connect properly unless you comment the line
require dhcp_server_identifierin
/etc/dhcpcd.conf.
Maybe this is also related to cases where it connects but it has no internet.
How soon will iodé release a new stable version of the OS to address the wi-fi issue?
The devs are working furiously on this. They have recently released a beta hoping to fix this problem but it had only minimal effect. This is their highest priority but there’s no way to set a possible date for the fix unfortunately. I’m not one of the developers but I’m sure as soon as they think they have a fix, it will be announced here and an update will be immediately available in the updater app, as well as an announcement in the iodé news app
Sagemcom BT Hub2 (UK) GRV9517UAC34-asa Not working for the Brax3
Just an update from Canada, most of the wi-fi router connections I’ve tried work, but none of the routers from Telus ISP work.
Do you have any other suggestions? I have not been able to set up a captive portal on my router.
Well the thing is it wasn’t as simple as “wifi doesn’t work”. Instead it doesn’t work on wifi devices the devs don’t own. Certainly a few testers reported issues, but if you consider the number of people reporting issues compared to the number of phones, we are at maybe 2-3% of users with an issue? No I don’t have actual stats on that, but as I understand they sold 4000(+?) devices. If you don’t have wifi, this is a nasty bug, if you do have working wifi you don’t comment on it (since of course it is assumed a new device will have working wifi).
Does your router support this feature?
I agree completely. I was a beta tester and just checked my beta device and have twelve wireless networks saved that I successfully connected with. In my time in the beta, I was not able to find a wireless router that I couldn’t connect with. I knew that others had an issue, but for me it worked on every device I had access to.
Good to know you can connect to the wifi network, I’ll report the router is working. But regarding your captive portal login, that is a bit of its own issue, please start a new thread on it.
I think this issue is not related to not being able to authenticate to the wifi router. So please start a new thread.
Basically this thread doesn’t have anything to do with actual internet usage, is is only about connecting to the wifi network itself (which may or may not be providing internet successfully).
I get it, but it’s weird that it’s only presumably in the 2-3% area yet I’ve tried 3 devices (2 routers, one phone) and all had the problem. Haven’t the devs purchased any of the reported routers yet?
I have an ARRIS NVG510. If you know how to configure it, I am open to suggestions.
