I added a few gig worth of MP3’s and tried playing the files using default music player. Not matter which file I pick it’ll play for 1 second and then stop. Hit play again and it plays for just 1 second again. Anyone else had this issue?
Will try once i receive my device!
I installed a different music playing app and that worked fine. Default app seams to be the issue.
interesting…thanks for the feedback! @rik did you know about this issue? Regards!
Use Phocid. Open source and really the best quality sound..and I tried a lot of players out there
I can confirm the bug, but not on other devices, and I also thought I had tested this successfully after another person reported it in the pre-release phase and I couldn’t reproduce. I have been trawling through settings but haven’t sorted it yet.
I am just an old school VLC user personally
but thanks for other suggestions.
Hahaha, you can’t get me away from VLC either… it never fails!!!
fossify music is my preference. Download from f-droid
@rik: If using VLC on Brax3, would I download VLC for Android or VLC for Linux or something else (I don’t see Iode O/S on VLC website)?
For open source apps, please look first in F-Droid store, there you will find VLC (yes it is “VLC for Android”). The reason to use the store is that then update notifications, etc. are taken care of, and then you don’t have to risk manually installing .apk files that may make you a victim of phishing if someone spoofs the location you think you are manually downloading from.
Excellent! Thanks Rik!!!
There is actually what I consider being the best music playback application for local file called “Simple Music Player” - it does just that. Nothing else, no commercials etc.
Thanks, Haley! Good to know!
Anyone get Libby to work properly?
Libby downloads and plays audiobooks from my local library.
It plays until pressing pause. Error message: Sorry, we encountered a problem. It may relate to your internet connection.
Pressing play again sometimes works, but the ‘resume’ position does not update. Have to force stop and start over. Pressing pause again has no effect. Can’t stop until forcing closed. The files are not accessible, otherwise I’d use another app.
Libby works ok completely off-line on my Pixel3a. Does not require internet connection, but if available then the resume position is stored in the cloud, making the resume position available to multiple phones. But the issue persists online and offline.
Fossify Music Player
When pausing, get the message: An unknown error occurred.
lineageos Music
Plays for half second and stops. No error messages displayed. However, if I start from Files and navigate to the mp3, then the file plays fully. Unless I press pause. It pauses, but then the song does not resume when pressing Play.
AntennaPod
When pausing, get error message: The media file could not be played.
VLC. Ok
Plexamp. Ok
Libby is the only app I care about. Others are interchangeable.
Anyone have ideas?
Thanks
i use auxio, installed via fdroid. auxio doesn’t require network connectivity. it just plays local files very well.
Yes i have the same issue also. Will have to try a different app i guess.
Try Musicolet - pretty awesome.
you have a link? I don’t find it on my brax Aurora etc.
I find that i can never get through a long playlist. (Using the orig player, and fossify)
Always stops at the same point. Ive removed the last song it plays, and it now stops at the one before it. The same playlist with same apps on a motorola play fine, and on an oppo.
First world problem i know, but another nail in the coffin for this phone being a daily driver when you add together all of its inabilities (wifi, wifi calling, camera, sound etc)
Have a look in the table in the first post here:
