I never let my windows computer talk with my phone…even before with my old phones. I always stored my pics/documents etc.. on the sd card in my phone and then put the sd card in the computer and did a simple move/copy to a folder I created on the computer. I would be weary of doing that now if you are windows 11. copilot ai will copy it all and send it to the cloud. I switched to linux about a year ago and am very comfortable connecting phone to computer if need be.
Absolutely!!

Yep - you don’t really want anything Microsoft touching your privacy phone, nor it’s contents (unless you don’t care where the latter ends up).
Indeed - Linux is really the only viable long term solution for now if you don’t want to undo any privacy efforts on your phone by connecting it to a compromised computer or apps like Windows/Microsoft or macOS/iCloud/etc…
I’m still on windows 10. Thanks for your response.
Ah, well thats something…
A couple of things:
P.S. The photos may be in a different location depending on what camera app you are using too (e.g. \DCIM\OpenCamera or \DCIM\ Fossify etc - or possibly even in a subfolder of \Pictures - not simply \DCIM).
