Morgen Calendar & work Google Calendar on Brax3

So, I have 4 apps that I have to use for work.
I work for a small company that uses the Google suite.
The only part of the g suite that I MUST participate with are gMail & Calendar. I don’t want their gmail on my phone. I can use computer for that. But I’d like to use “Morgan Calendar” because I can see work(gCalendar) and personal (protonCal) all in ONE Calendar. and I like Morgan’s scheduling features and other integrations on Morgan.

  1. Can I use Morgan Calendar on my Brax3? (with a work google calendar syncing to it) without giving google any of my personal info, location, ect?

**since getting into Brax stuff, I have de-googled my personal life.

I see that Morgan Calendar is available in the Aurora Store, but it is not available on F-droid. BraX3 uses both Aurora & F-droid as “app stores” and you can also get APKPure too. So it seems available.

I don’t use it so I cannot speak to if it works on the BraX3 as expected. Maybe someone else can confirm its funcrion.

Hope that partially helps!

Clarity: I can see Morgen in Aurora & APKPure. My question is, if I put Morgen on my Brax3, which is synced to my work gMail calendar…

  1. Will I be giving google access to my phone, location, other data, ect?
  2. Perhaps, better asked, If I stall Morgen & sync my work gmail to Morgen, what WILL I be giving google access to on my Brax3?

You can use “davX5” from f-droid to sync Google contacts and calendars. The default calendaring app will integrate with the google calendar. You can also sync other calendars / contacts like nextcloud, etc. Not certain if Proton would work there or not.

Gmail: you can just add your account to Thunderbird, it is really great.

Thank you.
I searched for “davX5” in the f-droid store. but nothing came up…

regarding default calendaring app: if gMail is sycnked to calendaring app, will anything be reported to google, other than google calendar changes? Like my location, phone id, or any other data?

Hello, I was reading this thread just wandering about this. In terms of privacy, is it equivalent to add my gmail account into Thunderbird to use a browser and login to gmail there?

Latter may be worse IMO as it will potentially allow more tracking by Google. You should not be logging into ANY Google account on a privacy phone! Google & Privacy is an oxymoron…

Thunderbird will reduce that, but likely not eliminate it (if you are accessing a Google account).
