My Brax3 phone won't update

I have the Brax3 phone. It was working fine until the latest update notice. Every time I try to update to 7.1 using the updater app, I get the following message: The download failed. Please check your internet connection and try again later.
I know it’s not my internet connection as I can surf the web with the phone and emails work. Also, I just upgraded to fiber optic internet at 100 mbs.
I tried a factory reset but that didn’t clear the problem.

Can someone help me?
Thank you!

Download this and hit the 3 dots upper right in the updater and choose local update, brax3/iode-7.2-20260131-brax3-ota.zip · master · ota / release · GitLab

You need only the update file, not the updater.

Thank you. I’ll try that when I have some free time.

I tried doing this but still does not work, comes back as unable to connect to internet.

I have the file in the local file and when I click on it for local update to install it says download failed.

You are doing something wrong, it would say “Failed to import update.”

you are probably right there, yes this is the problem with those of us who are not techi minded, after a while we tend to drift back to what we now works first time. our old phones.

You didn’t provide any feedback like one based on describing what you did, repeating the process and paste here the link you downloaded.

What do you mean “you clicked on it” ?

You click local update and you choose the *ota.zip file, brax3/iode-7.2-20260131-brax3-ota.zip · master · ota / release · GitLab

If there is a problem like a corrupt download it will show “Failed to import update”.

hi George, thanks for your support, some good news. this is what I did , on the Brax phone I went to this blog and downloaded the link given. it was saved in local updater folder, from their I just tapped install and restarted the phone. now its good to go. I checked the setting and it says iodeOS version 7.2-20260131-brax 3. so it been updated. once again thanks

So it was either a corrupted download or you did something different the first time.
