Just some observations from using the Brax3. I think it’s a great thing what’s happening here with the development of Brax 3. I’m quite certain it’s not ready for prime time though. I’m actually quite surprised to see a tablet introduced when the phone still has many things that need improvement. Why not make a reliable phone first THEN use that knowledge and experience to produce a great tablet?
Things I and many others seem to be experiencing with the Brax 3. Issues with mms and group texts. I completely disabled mms on mine to use only sms. This may not be a Brax issue but merely a messaging app issue. Point is I’m using the messaging app that came loaded on the phone and it doesn’t work. I use telegram or signal but not all of my contacts use those and it gets frustrating.
Many random reboots. I have update iode whenever they were released to stay current and hoping things iron out. They haven’t. I was on a call yesterday and the screen went crazy with jumbled square images and a high pitched whine then black. It rebooted on it’s own.
In this day why would a phone have a slow charger? If everything else worked as it should this probably wouldn’t bug me. I understand the next version may have this fixed but it should have come that way to begin with.
For me personally, I think I should have waited until the Brax was a little more refined before I jumped in. I need a reliable phone, I’m not interested in playing “developer” anymore, too old for those games. I’m surprised to see a tablet launch when the phone isn’t even reliable yet. I think I need to get a degoogled pixel that will run until things get sorted out with the Brax. Seems to be the only option available. I am apprehensive that this Brax will just stop all together and there is no support other than typing a message on this board and trying to figure out how to fix it myself.
With all that said….I think it’s really great what is happening with the development of this phone. When things get more refined I will definitely revisit.
I wonder where all of the Brax III phones from the first batch, all made in the same place, I assume they were. But if they weren’t, can we figure out where they were made? Just curious.
Now it has a new twitch that started a couple days ago. This is especially annoying. The phone will randomly reboot during a phone call. I didn’t mind it so much when I was just messing about but when it drops calls when I’m trying to get something done….that’s an issue.
I was thinking someone from Brax might actually jump in to offer help but I guess that’s not the case. It’s great that folks jump in with suggestions but actual support for the purchase seems nonexistent. I’ll be getting something more reliable and toss this one in the pile.
Good Morning, I’m not interested in loading beta version. There are enough issues with the official version, I don’t need more experimental trials. I’m more interested in finding a different phone that works as it should. Factory reset means I need to reload and start over, not interested in that either. As I said I just want a phone that works.
I understand and appreciate what I think Brax is trying to do by starting this and creating a better privacy phone. I applaud his efforts but they should have done the R&D to make a phone that functions prior to releasing. They also should have a better support structure. I sent a message to what I thought was the support line and after a week or so I got a reply that said I was in the wrong place and to post it here. I post it here and still get no response except from other purchasers who are going through the same crap.
We, as purchasers of the product shouldn’t be used as guinea pigs and researchers to solve their problems. We are not getting paid or getting any royalties from these phones. I bet they are though.
When I get a different phone that works, I will reach out to Plamen and request a replacement phone with the caveat…they wait and send me one that works. R&D is complete and the phone can actually make calls without rebooting. I’m over it.
