Is there any information about using the Brax3 phone with an online banking app? Can anyone comment as to the preservation of privacy using a banking app?

My local bank needs to know my ip before the let me in so i am going to use my old phone only from my home.

Many online banking apps are just web portals, so there is little advantage to installing anything at all, you can just go in from your browser and use a desktop session. Others are neobanks and don’t even have a web portal, like Wise or N26 or Revolut. You can check if these work by looking inside a microG compatibility guide, like the one for iodeOS If you don´t see your app there, check the table at /e/OS. If the banking app requires the Play Integrity API, one of google’s most invasive and monopolistic moves in the Android environment, then there is little to be done, aside from changing banks or requesting that they allow web access, but there seem to be few bank apps actually implementing that, since they wind up excluding many stock android devices in addition to preventing their use on custom ROMs.

Please note that many websites—especially those related to banking, government, or media—actively block access from known VPN servers. This is typically done for a few reasons:
- To follow licensing agreements or regional restrictions
- To control who can access their content based on location
- To help prevent misuse or fraudulent activity
Since VPN servers are used by many users at the same time, their IP addresses can become easily recognized and added to blocklists. This is not specific to any one VPN provider and can happen across the industry. Sadly they dont tell you this before you sign up!

Some banks refuse access from IPs outside the country they operate in, but don’t block VPNs, so if you choose a VPN exit server in the desired country it may work.

Not truth! not in Sweden. you need BankID app in order to log in every where or / and use swish app. both are downloud able from Google store.
I have to make sure if it will work or not other ways I will buy Brax3 long ago.
How to know with out having a phone?
As noted in the other thread you are asking about this on, it seems that BankID and Swish should work for you, but to certify your exact banking situation in Sweden, you will need to either install iodéOS on a refurbished device, or find a friend in Sweden that could do this this, so you can check.
