when will you know and how will you advise us backers on this?
I guess they will be able to tell us backers about that when their evaluation sample is ready. Until then, we will just have to wait.
Ragarding Update 4 on Indiegogo:
It’s great to see the plans for full mainline kernel on the soc, daily driving Linux could be a breeze when the boot process is some what standard.
Are there any news if the keyboard will come with a touchpad?
Great to see a roadmap.
Thanks.
Can you increase the darkmode contrast? I’ve tried to change to light mode in browsers but can’t. It’s hard for me to read the content on the Brax3. ![]()
Any word on the maximum NVMe drive capacity yet or will that have to wait until the EVT sample is finished?
It most likely will be 1TB. We’re still trying to figure out if there is any way to have that increased. We will know for sure after completing EVT validation.
Until what date will we be able to add accessories to our order?
@plamen What will be the extension possibilities to be able to adapt the tablet for a local AI setup in the future? More specifically will it be possible to increase the RAM to lets say 64 GB via some sort of adapter?
The entire soc itself is only capable of 10 TOPS, an RTX 3080 has 160 TOPS and is already struggling with smallish models. RAM will not be the issue here, even if the soc would support more than 16GB, which it doesn’t.
I think what you are looking for is an AI M.2 inference accelerator, but cooling and power consumption will be an issue.
The Open_Slate is simply not the right tool for a serious local AI setup.
Thanks for your comment. I guess your right. I was hoping i could turn it into a local ai setup. But it will have to wait for sinking prices then!
From what I have seen, the Framework desktop has ideal power management for its performance doing quite well against desktops. But that is not exactly portable, which is more so what people want. You might have to wait a few years or more or set up some kind of server for this kind of setup.
Not sure if that is too late to ask for, but would it be possible to have a fixed high optical zoom in one of the rear 16MP cameras instead of the standard portrait and main camera configuration? I often do pictures of distant objects with a zoom factor of about 3x - 6x, like in lectures or at work, and digital zoom with 16MP is only decent for lower factors.
Perhaps this could also be offered as a replacement part later?
Another idea I had is charging the stylus via pogo pins when it magnetically attaches to the tablet. It’s comfortable, more energy efficient than wireless charging and fairly simple to implement, but not necessarily reliable.
It’s probably too late to end up in the final design, but I still wanted to share this for the second version or maybe another product.
how come no admin has replied to this message?
I pledge later with order on the 20th June 2026 and told to wait for the pledge manager to start. May I know when and where I can keep track of it, to know how does it goes. Any info will be very helpfull
I like this idea very much, and hope very much that you will ship my Openslate with this included out-of-the-box.
Just tried to look at the open_slate Roadmap page, and got this:
You've requested a page on a website (roadmap.braxtech.net) that is on the Cloudflare network. Unfortunately, it is resolving to an IP address that is creating a conflict within Cloudflare's system.
Please seehttps://developers.cloudflare.com/support/troubleshooting/http-status-codes/cloudflare-1xxx-errors/error-1000/ for more details.
Fix it please?
Basically at any time before we start shipping.
The pledge manager will basically allow you to choose your delivery address, and pay delivery fees. We will be enabling this closer to start of shipping, so backers are more certain of their delivery address.
Yes, we’re aware and working on this. Thanks for pointing it out.
