Of course, they immediately point at iode OS. If anyone knows how to fix this display issue please post up!
This is an ongoing issue with iodéOS, it has some (lets say) not-ideal colour combinations chosen, due to I suspect, the iodé logo and colour pallette. It annoys me too because it affects things like the spell checker pop ups in various keyboards and similar menus in other apps. It makes the screen completely unreadable, especially outdoors or with privacy screen protector on.
Curiously it doesnt impact a couple of apps I use, and I suspect this is because they don’t honour the OS theme and light/dark screen settings.
AFAIK no fix and likely won’t change in near future - but @rik might know if iodéOS have it logged as an issue or on their roadmap for future updates? Oddly enough I was thinking about posting about it myself this week, but on the iodé community not here, to see if any update. Its most likely either due to a badly chosen colour combination for the dark theme, or perhaps a poorly coded dark theme function that doesn’t allow system to resort to dark text if needed, when the background isn’t a dark shade or colour…
IIRC the work around is to disable dark mode on your device - then it will default to a darker text (or alternate background) solving the problem…
You may also be able to get around it in specific apps by disabling them from using system light/dark theme, etc, if they have the option, and set them to use their own theme or to not use dark mode…
