People can't hear me on calls

Hi,
I’ve been using my new Brax3 for a couple of months. As of this morning, I’ve had issues with phone calls. Initially, I couldn’t hear my husband when he called me. He called back a second time & I could hear him, but he still couldn’t hear me.

I’ve tested this with different people over the past couple of hours, and nobody can hear me on phone calls. My phone was working just fine for calls as of last night. This is a new problem. If it matters, I use Mint Mobile.

I have experienced problems for about a week or two with having to restart my phone multiple times per day because pictures don’t want to send in text messages or apps seem to lock up. When I restart, it typically solves the problem.

People not being able to hear me on phone calls is a HUGE problem. I am using this as my primary phone.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks!

Have you installed any new apps about the time you experienced this problem?

Try going into your “Settings” for the phone (gear icon).

Now go APPS → See all apps → Phone ->Permissions->Microphone.

Make sure it is on the “Allow only while using the app” setting.

Hi, I will add a few things that can help narrow the problem and understand if it’s telco compatibility, software or hardware issue.

Apart from what Igor_Shotsky recommended, can you also do the below in the order shared:

  1. Check if Microphone access is enabled in Privacy controls (Settings > Security & privacy > Microphone access. If not enabled, please enable it and try to make another call.
If your microphone access was disabled and you had to enable it, it is possibly a bug that disabled it in the first place (assuming you didn’t). We will need to investigate if that’s the case

  2. Restart the phone (if you haven’t tried that already)
If this helped, this seems like a software issue. We will need to investigate if that’s the case

  3. Try to make a VoIP call via an app like signal, telegram, whatsapp and see if the other side can hear you;
If VoIP call worked well, while regular phone call didn’t, it could mean that it’s software issue or carrier compatibility issue (less unlikely, as Mint Mobile is listing BraX3 as compatible). You can rule out compatibility if you call Mint Mobile support and explain what you tried

  4. Record a sound via the recorder app. See if any sound is captured when you play the recording after
If no audio is captured, this leads to a hardware defect. In this case, you need to return the phone and get a replacement. Hardware defects are very unlikely, especially with a microphone so early, but still possible

Today I had this same issue. Restarting the phone fixed it.
