Phone goes black, flashes a yellow screen, and boots back up

My phone suddenly started to go black, flash yellow, and reboot when I opened an app.

Then one time it didn’t come back. I wouldn’t get past the Iode’ splash screen.

I couldn’t get the SP Flash Tool to work, so I sacrificed my data and did a factory reset.

This brought it back to the state where it will boot up, but I can’t open resource intensive apps like the browser without it flashing yellow and rebooting on me.

At least I can make calls and text for now.

This is a new problem to hear about but never happened to me. What version of iodé are u using? Maybe the phone needs an update? :man_shrugging:

What app was it that initially caused the issue ?

It sounds like a ram issue.

After factory reset did you install the same initial app that started it again ?

I didn’t install anything. I went through the initial setup and then opened the Iode’ browser and it rebooted itself again.

@kldantu This sounds like a serious hardware issue. Please check with @plamen, and it is, you need to contact [email protected] right away to see if you can get a free replacement. (A small percentage of devices have been known to hardware issues.)

Thank you. I was leaning toward hardware issue myself because It happened out of the blue. It wasn’t after making any changes, installing an app or an upgrade.
I’m here because [email protected] said the email support channel is reserved for order and payment issues.

@plamen Do you know who @kldantu should contact about a potential hardware issue with his Brax3 (presumably still within the 14 day return period, but I don’t know) and how to get a replacement? I erroneously pointed him to the [email protected] email address, which apparently is reserved for order and payment issues.

@plamen I know you were traveling outside country when I posted the message above. Did you and @kldantu already connect regarding what the current procedure is when a customer has major hardware issues with the Brax3? Is there an email address besides [email protected] that customers should be using for this purpose?

In my case that I had a defective back camera they replied through the email to write here and after plamen said that it can be fixed I sent them plamen’s answer and they sent me a code and an address to sent them the phone
