Ringtone Does Not Ring When I Receive Calls

Hi

Although I am very satisfied with the Brax 3 mobile, there is one frustrating issue. When I receive a call, the phone often does not ring. This appears to be caused by at least two separate problems:

  • Even though I never use Do Not Disturb, the ringtone volume is randomly set to silent.

  • Even more strangely, sometimes calls do not connect at all and callers are automatically sent to my voicemail. Restarting the device temporarily resolves the issue, but it eventually returns.

This is extremely inconvenient when people are trying to reach me.

Aside from this problem, I am very happy with the Brax 3. I was concerned that switching from Google Android would be a major adjustment, but it turned out to be much easier than expected.

Does anyone have a solution to this issue? If it has already been discussed elsewhere, please feel free to point me to the relevant thread.

Kind regards;

Did some quick searching and think I saw it might be related to iodeOS 7, maybe? But I don’t know honestly. I too am new to Android so take what I found below with a grain of salt.

  1. Disable all forms of call forwarding
    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > [Your Carrier] > Advanced > Call Settings > Call Forwarding
    • Ensure all options (Always, When Busy, Unreachable, etc.) are turned OFF
    • Alternatively, dial *73 (U.S. carriers like T-Mobile) to disable conditional call forwarding at the network level
  2. Turn off Wi-Fi calling
    • Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Internet > [Your SIM] > Gear Icon > Calling > Wi-Fi Calling
    • Set to Off
    • Note: Multiple users reported that Wi-Fi calling can cause handoff failures, leading to calls going straight to voicemail, especially after reboot
  3. Check for silent mode or volume reset bugs
    • Open Settings > Sound & Vibration
    • Manually set Ringtone Volume to maximum
    • Disable “Change with Buttons” (if present) to prevent accidental muting
    • Test by having someone call you immediately after setting
  4. Clear phone app cache and data
    • Go to Settings > Apps > See All Apps > Phone > Storage & Cache
    • Tap Clear Cache, then Clear Data
    • Restart the phone
  5. Verify DND and Focus modes are truly off
    • Open Settings > Sound & Vibration > Do Not Disturb
    • Ensure it’s disabled and no schedule is active
    • Swipe down Control Center and confirm the Focus icon is not active
  6. Check blocked numbers and call rejection
    • In Phone app > Settings > Blocked Numbers
    • Remove any contacts or numbers that may have been auto-blocked
    • Disable Silence Unknown Callers if enabled
  7. Test with airplane mode toggle
    • Turn on Airplane Mode for 30 seconds
    • Turn it off, wait for network re-registration
    • This forces the modem to reconnect and can resolve temporary carrier registration issues

Hope that helps somewhat

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the thorough research you’ve conducted. I will now take the time to explore all the options you’ve highlighted and perform a careful evaluation. I will keep you updated as I move forward with the evaluation.

Thank you again for your excellent work.
