Screen waking for notifications

How do I configure my brax3 to not let the screen wake up when a notification occurs? If I search in android settings for “wake screen” I see a search result for this (“wake screen for notifications”) but when I tap it, it takes me to the “Lock Screen” settings screen and the setting isn’t there. Is this an option that Iode has suppressed for some reason? If so, can it be brought back in the next release please?

I don’t like the screen waking automatically ever. I had my old moto g7 lineageos phone configured this way.

I am new to Android, iodeOS and Brax but think this may be related. Copying/pasting below what I searched if it helps. Haven’t tried it though:

  • Go to Settings > Display > Always On Display > When to show → Set to “Never” or disable AOD entirely.
  • Disable Lift to Wake and Tap to Wake under Settings > Display.
  • Use Do Not Disturb mode with “No interruptions” and disable all visual alerts.

I don’t have AOD in settings. Maybe because I’m on the latest iode, which is now android 16 and that post would’ve been from android 15. So perhaps the setting exists in 15 but not 16? I also don’t have a Tap to Wake option but I do have Lift to Wake turned off. I do hunt for and disable all options that relate to the screen turning on by itself and have done all that I can find.

@vincent maybe you can comment on this? Can this get fixed for the next release, assuming I’m not just missing a setting somewhere?
