just found that I cannot send pictures through the default “Messages” app. I have combed through all the settings and cannot figure out why. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have also looked at other posts that are similar to no avail.
@jantinzi Who do you get your cell service from? APN settings tend to be specific to each operator. Try doing a search for APN on this forum.
I am with tm. I went through the settings and they match. Also verified that I was able to send pics the first week I had the phone. [had it 5 weeks]. I have not needed to send a pic until today from that first week.
You weren’t on Apple previously were you and forgot to deregister iMessage & FaceTime? Just chucking it out there as one of the common causes of these types of issues…
nope…never an apple person. It was working and now it is not. text messaging works fine. receiving mms works fine…just can no longer send mms. It is not a huge deal breaker for me as I am more and more utilizing signal [which works flawlessly]. still have some family that are holdouts and mms is kinda important for them. Will figure it out eventually.
Cool. Just thought I’d mention it just in case… ![]()
@jantinzi There are a couple of posts that talk about similar issues. I am not saying they necessarily have solutions for your specific situation, but if you read through them, you might find some useful clues:

Just to confirm, you are directly with T-Mobile, and not an MVNO that uses T-Mobile as their carrier, correct?
Also, can you post a screenshot of your APN settings, please?
this PERFECTLY describes me as well.
text & receiving mms works but I can NOT SEND a VIDEO of, for example, my baby’s to grandma who is a normie on the messaging app. I switched from PureTalk to Metro(t-mobile) thinking it would solve. It did not. But my rate is now $26… so I’m staying. I have finally got my mom to switch to Signal. (holding grandbaby pics hostage until she downloaded, LOL) But my wife is still annoyed and hanging onto imessage. LOL
Have you reached out to your telco and ask to see if they can identify an issue? They usually have access to logs for sms/mms and should be able to easily identify the problem.
