Still On IODEOS 6.3

Ive watched Robs video on setting up this phone. Ive tried to update this op many times via reading what I can find. I see no clear answer to fix this issue…maybe as Im a newby to this stuff. Are there any simple clear instructions?

What do you see exactly in the updater?

Which update?

Do you get an error message ?

Hi, Thanks for Helping. I click on the updater, it shows iodes 6.3. Android 15 May 26, 25, then last checked.., Then shows in a white block… iodeOS 7.1 Dec 21, 25 1.4GB…then just the word INFO below 3 dots. Clicking on INFO I get “This updater cannot be installed using the updater app. Please read …wiki.lineageos.org/devices/brax3/upgrade/ for more info. “ Clicking the link gives me Page Not Found. The 3 dots just bring up…a “copy url” message. TY Judy

When you download the updater apk click on it and it will ask you to trust it for installation

Hi George,

Wow! after a day or so trying to follow directions, but being unsucessful… My phone had been stuck on iodeOS 6.3, with Android 15.

I kept my phone plugged in. fyi

I went to your link on Gitlabs selected Find Files on the Top Right of Screen. I picked the gitlab 6.3 uploader this time… as I was unsuccessful with initially trying to update to the V6-to-7).

Upon installing the above update, there was a message which asked me to go to Settings and Select Install Unknown apps. I did. After install. I think there was now a REBOOT button, so I rebooted and actually rebooted twice. (just because)

After rebooting I went to my Updater App, now showing iodeOS beta (w/o a version number.) But showed the new 7.1 update listed to install via an Install link.

I installed it. This was a large file about 1.4GB which took about a half hour to download/install. When finished, I rebooted and went to the Updater App, now showing 7.1.

The last thing I think I did was to uninstall the beta updater by Settings/Apps/Updater/ 3 dots/uninstall (said something like restore Factory default..I picked yes and Rebooted.

I checked the install going to Settings/System/System Updates/ and I seen iodeOS 7.1 listed. also checked Settings/About… showing me 7.1 and Android 16 listed.

Im not sure all this is correct, but this should give you an idea of how I was able to install and update my phone.

TY George
