My Brax3 is set to “always allow USB connections” but the only way to access this is to first search for USB in settings. Why isn’t there an easier way (i.e. toggling tile) to access the USB file transfer option? My guess this is a security feature to prevent easy access to the root of phone.
@Greenie
Plug your phone into your PC, drag the pull down menu from the top, click on charging twice, switch that to transfer files. Does that help?
Sometimes the option appears and sometimes it doesn’t and I have to search for “USB” in settings. It could be a problem with the USB port on my PC.
That’s true. It might be a port problem.
Another person I know was having the same issue. He switched the USB cable and never had that problem again. He said the first cable was cheap.
I think he was plugging it into his dock port that only supported charging and not communications. ![]()
Either way, he got it working.
Yes! Cheap USB cables are a curse (and the bane of many an IT Support Services person) - often they claim USB 3.0 for example and aren’t even wired to 3.0 standard.
If you are doing more than just charging (i.e. data transfer or device connection) make sure to buy a good quality name brand cable for that!!
Some of my USB-C cables (that receive adapters) have an indicator mark at the plug tip (this end up). If charge only, then i have to turn the cable over to get data transfer.
Look for a cable that maybe has an “SS” on the end for SuperSpeed. Also, during the beta some users had similar issues, and switching to cables that has USB-C for the phone-end and USB-A for the computer end worked. I’ve had success with both, but trying those should resolve the issue for you.
THX, very helpful! I will keep an eye out.
