I’m unable to use my Brax3 camera’s scan function. This has been the case since receiving my phone. I had expected with familiarisation with the phone and interface that I would figure it out overtime, but this hasn’t happened. In addition I recently successfully installed an app from my health insurer which enables scanning and uploading of medical receipts, etc. This app works well, but the Brax3 camera scan function does not engage and facilitate the required scanning operation.
For your info, the Brax3’s camera works norrnally as in camera and video modes, but not in scan mode. In scan mode there isn’t a initiation button, so you’ve way to set-off the scan function. There also doesn’t appear to be a document auto-sensor. I presumed this was due to a security or permissions issue. Nonetheless, even with changing the security and permission settings, I’ve not found a way of getting the Brax3’s scan function to work.
Hello, please note that the scan function of the system camera app is for scanning QR codes, and not for scanning documents. You’d need a third party app for document scanning.
Thanks for getting back to me. I installed FairScan 3rd-party app., and seems to do what’s needed. PDF’s are available immediately to either stored or sent out. Though I am still perplexed at what to do about the non-functioning scan application in my health insurance app. It seems this may be a privacy issue or alternatively relates to an intrusive “google-type” protocols absence on my Brax3.
In past phones I’ve used the "scan” function is as a barcode scanner. I just tried the Brax3 default camera, and yes, that’s what it does.
For scanning documents I come from a clunky Linux method, which is
just photograph the document,
run it through tesseract,
spend some time fixing the OCR errors …
