I’ve tried all these thoughtful suggestions.. several times. But, the Android Auto app showing on the car’s display is still greyed out and un-usable. Can still get zero connectivity. Getting pretty frustrated.
- enable Android Auto in preinstalled apps
- update AA in Aurora store
- install Google, Google Maps, and Google speech services or their corresponding stubs
- connect phone to head unit via USB cable.
- launch AA on head unit and follow prompts on head unit and/or phone
PHONE MUST BE ON IODÉOS V6.6
THIS WILL NOT WORK WIRELESSLY
If still having issues, try a different cable or follow head unit troubleshooting instructions.
I have successfully done this on multiple Brax3 phones
is there any way to have wireless AA?
Not currently, but maybe a developer knows more
thanks! @rik or someone from iodé team could help me to clarify if wireless AA is possible?
Thanks.. but, tried all that.
Anyone wanna buy a Brax3??
Can you check your USB privacy settings?
System Settings > Security & privacy > More security & privacy > Trust > Restrict USB
It should be set to Always allow USB connections. Please report if you instead see Deny USB connections, as at least 1 other user had that setting by default.
What is happening? I have three Brax3 phones and a Pixel running iodé 6.6 all working on wired Android Auto
Yes, I just re-checked.. and under Restrict USB, it displays “Always allow USB connections” ..
Also, the Brax3 phone says that Android Auto is installed… but, it does not show up on the car’s display screen… I have never had such problems with their Car Play.
What do you mean by it doesn’t show up on the iphone? That has nothing to do with Android Auto
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are two distinct smartphone integration systems, but they are not the same. CarPlay is exclusive to iPhones, while Android Auto is designed for Android phones.
Sorry, I meant on the car’s display.
OK, but both should work, should they not? One at a time, of course.
I really want to help you get this working.
What are you seeing on your phone when you connect? Many times it will ask for some permissions first.
What are you trying to connect it to?
If factory system, what is the year, make, model?
If is and aftermarket stereo, what brand, and model?
Or is it one of those Chinese add on screens? I have one of those that is wireless only, thus won’t work. Connection must be over USB cable.
Can you connect a “normal” Android phone to it using USB and get Android Auto to work?
Like I said, I know this works because I have 4 iodé devices working with my aftermarket radio.
I guess he got it? 26 days and no reply.
I tried so many things but could not get my Brax3 to work on my Subaru Crosstrek. I appreciate all the suggestions on here - they were tried several times… but, to no avail.
So, I’ve had to leave it on the shelf and will try to get back at it sometime. (In the meanwhile, my old iPhone works perfectly…) One of these days, I’ll try again.
I would be so happy if there was someone here in the Moncton, NB area who can figure this out…
I hope they do.
Something something 20 character minimum
The part about all the google apps to download, that defeats the purpose of a privacy phone, I mean who functions with out a navigation app like waze?
I do have the exact same behavior.
I can connect my phone to my Nissan 2019 model, go through the Android phone setup on the phone, but the screen remains black.
Note that when getting a SMS message or switch songs, the overlay line shows it.
But maps, waze and CoMaps won’t display on the builtin car screen.
I rather think the limitation comes from screen display settings or similar.
Note that the Android Auto works on a OnepLus 6 with Lineage OS 22.2 just fine (same base release).
I have checked everything in this thread on my phone, and it seems as explained.
But for some reason, it won’t show on my car.
If anyone has another hint? => Very Welcome ![]()
