Using seed vault to go back 2 months to iode' 6.9

My BraX3 is currently updated to iode’ 7.1 and not stable-it reboots about once a day on average now. It was fine for the last 6 months in iode’ 6.x so I was wondering if it is possible to go back to that? I have another BraX3 phone that is in 6.9 and I just made a seed vault backup. Can I transfer that to my ill BraX3 after I do a reset on it?

I think Seedvault is only for your data, I think I remember someone who downgraded with a local update by downloading an earlier OTA from the gitlab but I’m not sure if it’s somehow risky.

Now I can see only back to 7.0, I don’t know whether the older versions are somewhere.

I was thinking seed vault backups are small fpr an OS-130 MB. I will look into downloading an OTA for 6.x!

There is possibility that the other phone has kept the last OTA , there is a relevant setting for keeping the files.

Good call! That file was still there and the zip file is now being exported!

I don’t know which updater should be used, probably the transient one or the beta one.

I now have a 1.42 gb zip. I uninstalled the beta installer for 7.0 so this should work. I almost have all my settings on another phone so later today I can reset my first Brax3 and change to iodé 6.9 if it still randomly reboots.

The Updater is version 16 on my phone with 7.1 and 15 on my phone with 6.9.

You could try to do it with the current one and if it refuses try the previous one.

The OTAs should be also in the problematic phone.

In which directory did you find them?

I used apk extractor to get version 15 updater. On updater app there is option to export updates to a file and u pick location. I chose micro SD.

On problematic phone I deleted OTAs.

Thanks for that-I am downloading the one from 3 months ago. Hopefully a reset in 7.1 will make it stable again.

Is it better not to even update and wait for Iode to stabilize or figure out what is occurring with Brax phones especially if we received a new phone that has 6.3 on it, is there any major zero days or security flaws from not updating to 7.1 and beyond?

There are security fixes with each update.

I didn’t have to go back to iode’ 6.9 yet. I reset my phone that has 7.1 two days ago and it seems to be behaving normal again. Details here:
