Wireless charger for BraX3

I really liked the wireless charger that was showed on installation instructions. Can you share the company that you purchased yours from. There are several on amazon, and do not see the one you mentioned.
Also, the IMEA for the phone shows up on the outside of the box, so whoever packs it up at Amazon or other carrier can see it. This may be a security issue to take a look at. Thank you!

@plamen will any wireless phone charger work with the Brax3 or do we have to look for particular specs?

As per specs on store it can charge at 10W - so pretty much any modern charger is likely fine. For 10W I think you are typically going to find it’s 5V 2.1A output for a bog standard charger. So fairly common.

Apple Fast (cabled) Chargers are 18W and the ones for newer iPhones 20W from memory.

Most wireless chargers are 10W - you’ll need an external adapter as per Rob’s video…

Just FYI - the BraX wired Charger is 25W but assume it’s not GaN.

  • Interchangeable international plugs for UK, US, EU, and AU/NZ
  • 25W fast charging with USB-C port + 18W with USB-A port
  • Supports 100V–240V input for global voltage compatibility

Hi.
I believe it was this one.

This wireless charger method did not work for me. I connected the external receiver to the USC connector on the phone and inside the transparent case. Just like the video that Rob produced. The phone would continually connect and disconnect in a loop state. I tried it on 3 different wireless charger bases and the problem remained. I removed it.

Similar for me it wouldn’t wireless charge in my Mercedes

Same here. Does not work with the transparent case and the corresponding Nillkin PowerHold Mini Wireless Charging Stand. Charges ok up to about 90%. Then starts to endlessly disconnect/reconnect.

However, Nillkin charger and receiver work fine on my Pixel3a.

Hi. Did you try to change the setting on charge control to see if it will charge past 90%?

Settings > Battery > Charge Control

Yes, I have. No joy.

I’ve been using the Magic Tags @ 5 volts and 1 amp and no problems. I also can restrict charging to 80 % too protect the battery. Find it on Amazon.

Where do I pick up a new wireless international charger for the Brax3 phone?

This link no longer sells them: https://brax3.braxtech.net/products/25w-international-charger

Thanks!

That wasn’t wireless FWIW, it was the accessory to the BraX3 Phone - you can likely still order them through Indiegogo, but possibly only with a phone purchase…

Thanks for pointing that out. My mistake. I knew it wasn’t wireless. I have my Brax3 phone already. I was hoping I could buy that charger as a stand alone and without registering an account on IndieGoGo. It doesn’t seem like this path is doable.

I had this original charger, the metal piece became loose and so it doesn’t hold a charge anymore on my Brax3 Phone’s charging slot. I hope @Plamen or someone from the staff can offer a solution. I’m willing to pay full price for it. Should the charger become available without having to purchase another brax3 phone and without having to create an IndieGoGo account, please feel free to reach out and let me know. Thank you. Have a wonderful day!

The charger will be available separate once they relaunch the store - likely after Christmas ‘sometime’… Braxtech temporarily close i t as it was causing confusion because they are still doing all orders through Indiegogo.

I had a look on Indiegogo and it definitely looks like you can only currently buy it as an add on to a phone pledge/purchase…

I’m not sure what you are referring to here - your USB cable? Or do you just mean an old charger form another phone? Or did you buy one of the international chargers with the phone as an add on? There was no charger integral to the phone on initial purchase without an add on - as per above?

You can use any charger - I use my higher capacity Apple Chargers mostly, and the odd Belkin one… all standard cable ones - not wireless. For wired chargers just get a 30W capable one (or better) and a good USB cable - You’ll charge the BraX3 as fast as is physically possible.

P.S. Wireless charging is largely very inefficient and wasteful of energy (still), so I won’t use it, even with a Gallium Nitride (GaN) unit you might be generating the charge efficiently but a lot of it is being wasted via the wireless transfer…

As noted above I expect this will be after Christmas sometime, but may be a while still, as it’ll depend on when BraxTech stop using Indiegogo and/or switch their store back on. But @plamen may have something to add if there is an update to what’s being planned…?
