Accessories - Screen Protector and Lens Protectors

Does anyone know of a NON-PRIVACY (therefore NON-darkened) tempered glass screen protector that would work on the Brax3? Because, in some settings, the phone isn’t bright enough (even with brightness turned all the way up and using the light theme).

Also, I have to use the soft case that came with the phone (I need a flexible case), but then that leaves the camera lenses exposed to scratches, etc. Do you know of any lens protectors that might fit the phone and while using the soft case?

Thank you!

hmmm… I wish I had known that. I placed an order for the privacy protector from the Brax store a few hours ago. I wonder if there is a way to cancel that order before they ship it.

Anyway, before I placed that order I was looking on Amazon for screen protectors for the Nokia G310 5G phone, which seems to have a screen size very similar to the Brax3. (You can do a search for “nokia g310 5g screen protector” on Amazon).

You can look up the dimensions of those products and decide if any of those will meet your specific requirement.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check them out.

I don’t know about canceling your order but you might try to reply to the email right away if you’re concerned.

Are the screen protectors back in stock?

Currently, the page says yes.

I purchased the Nokia G310 5G clear screen protector and will report back!

The Nokia G310 5G fits pretty well! Just a tiny bit smaller all around but only a smidge. I’m happy and finally my screen is bright enough.

@wardee, out of curiosity, which particular screen protector did you order? I need to order one as well. (Still waiting to confirm that my order on the Brax store got cancelled)

@inverdell This one: Amazon.com

Hope you can get your Brax order canceled!

Also for completeness, I’m posting that I got these stickers to protect the camera lenses:

BLOCKED webcam privacy stickers: Amazon.com
BLOCKED Tabbed webcam privacy stickers: Amazon.com

The non-tabbed have the larger size of 1/2" and those nearly cover the camera lenses. Underneath it, I layered the biggest TABBED sticker (it’s smaller than 1/2") so I can grab that tab to lift up and pull off both stickers together. Hope that makes sense!

It’s working for now to give privacy and protect the lens from scratching, while allowing me to pull off the stickers when I wish to use the camera. The stickers are re-usable and go right back on when I want to cover up the camera again.

I also use the tiniest of the un-tabbed stickers to cover the forward-facing camera.

The stickers are reusable; they go off and on quite easily.

I just ordered this screen protector for a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. It is a bit of a gamble and will probably end up being too big for the Brax3, but I will post the result here for future reference.

A Redmi 13C case (and screen protector) are on my brax3 (click link to see some photos).

Screen protector is essentially identical fit, the case as well (but the brax3 is ever so slightly a tiny bit thicker so bumper protection of screen is very minimal)

Thanks @rik ! I will try it (but a soft one). I think it might work to protect the camera lenses better than the soft case that came with the phone. It’s worth a try, anyway.

Thanks @rik

I can confirm that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and iPhone 16 Plus screen protectors are too big. I just orderd a Redmi 13C screen protector and will report back

I’m going to order the Redmi 13C screen protector, so thanks for the recommendation. The one that came with the phone didn’t survive shipping. I decided not to hassle the team over it and to be honest I don’t need the off-angle privacy nor the reduction in brightness it involves.
In your link about the case I replied about using the transparent case that came with the phone and it surviving a fall from a desk.

Confirmed. The Redmi 13 C screen protector is the exact fit for the entire front glass of the Brax 3, not just the display screen. This is exactly what I was looking for. For those who are curious, the dimensions of this screen protector are 70 mm x 160 mm, with a diagonal length of only 170 mm due to rounded corners. This puts each corner radius at 5.6 mm.

@Mycenius You had mentioned in another post that:

  • The one I peeled off was thinner plastic, had a visible tab protruding at one end of the phone to make peeling off easy, and didn’t feel particularly sticky.
  • The one underneath (the actual shipping screen protector) was thicker and stiffer, had no tab, and when removed was noticeably sticky from adhesive on the side that contacted the phone screen.

How good is the “actual shipping screen protector” that the product shipped with? Does it really protect the screen from cracks? Is there a correct way to remove this screen protector?

Hi @inverdell - firstly @plamen stated in another thread sometime ago that the preapplied protector was only there for shipping purposes.

Personally I’d agree it probably shouldn’t be relied on for general use - it was only thick soft flexible plastic, so has no properties to protect the screen from significant bumps. It might be usable for a device that never left the house and was handled fairly carefully. But I’d suggest not worth the risk vs. having the offical privacy one of tempered glass or the one you’ve found…

To remove it you just need to get your fingernail or similar carefully under the edge on one corner to lift it then peel back. In my case I:

  1. Had it in the basic clear case protector so the case didn’t slip and the case didn’t obstruct the edge of the screen,
  2. I held the phone very firmly down flat on my kitchen bench with a thick cloth under it (so it sat level even with the cameras protruding),
  3. I used a jewellers flat-head screwdriver to very very carefully insert the small tip between screen protector and screen to lift it just enough to get my fingernail (or a thin plastic phone tool or guitar pick under),
  4. Then just carefully peel back and it will come away fairly easily…

Note mine had the original manufacturers protective light cover on it originally from the factory so don’t get mixed up with that…

And I then, after reapplying the official BraX3 tempered glass privacy screen protector directly to the phone screen repeated the process twice more with that as I had issues with trapped air bubbles or imperfect contact I couldn’t rub out - so the tempered glass one happily came off and went back on twice by that process. In fact I’ve applied it 4 times ;and remed 3 times) now and it’s seemed to adhere fine and none the worse for wear other than I have two tiny air bubbles/slightly masked spots I can’t get rid of…

@inverdell just checking did you just get the GTBDEKI brand one (in the case pack @rik recommended) or just another brand multi-screen protector pack for the Redmi 13C? i.e. the pack below or something else like the second item (what brand?) and was it gloss or matte:

@Mycenius This is the specific one that I got:
Beukei 9H Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Xiaomi Redmi 13C (3 Pack)

I would have preferred to get one with a matte finish, but I couldn’t find one for the Redmi 13C. The description on Amazon says:
Finish Type: Glossy
Screen Surface Description: Matte

So they basically covered all their bases with that description!
The actual item looks glossy to me, and definitely shows all my fingerprints right away, but they are easily wiped away.

Thanks @inverdell - great to know! And yeah typical Amazon description for a product out of China - just uses every possible keyword regardless of what the product is!

:joy:

P.S. Glossy finishes are a lot easier to manufacture (I understand), so the go to for cheaper items…
