Answering Call - no incoming call showing on screen

How to answer a call when I am using the phone? The screen doesn’t show an incoming call while it is ringing..

Try Settings → Apps → Phone. Scroll down to “Advanced” and make sure “Display over other apps” option is turned on.

Thank you. It was already allowed.. what else could be wrong with it?

No idea. Sorry. Maybe someone else has ideas.

Have you done a reboot?

My setting hasn’t changed but yes I rebooted the phone many times before … thank you

Out of curiosity which phone app are you using?

It will almost certainly be a setting somewhere causing the issue I think.

I have exactly same issue, sometimes a quick swipe down reveals the call answer button, other times i am just locked out of access to answer. Very annoying resulting in my ringing back, which often useless as call centres reject incomings

Have you tried the Fossify Phone app on F-Droid?

It might work better.

Hi! I just downloaded the app. I like it but still not showing an incoming call unless my phone is off.

who is your phone carrier? I wonder why not everyone has this issue..

The default one.. “phone”

This is an existing issue ever since the phone was delivered…so yes..

Mine is T-Mobile. I did have that issue with phone apps until I made sure they were allowed to open over other apps, but that’s not working for you.

What about voice mail? How to install visual voice mail so I dont have to call voice mail to find out who and why people called? I dont get voice mail alert…

Well, I don’t use my cell number for actual daily communications. I use a VOIP line from Brax over the carrier data when roaming, so I don’t have any real experience with that aspect.

Have you checked you allowed this app to open over other apps?

Fossify Phone works perfectly on my BraX3, so pretty sure it’ll be a setting…

Don’t believe it supports it, this isn’t an iPhone after all… Also remember your Telco / Carrier has to support it, and your Phone App, and I believe the Phone itself (OS or Hardware or maybe both). So anyone of those not supporting it means you wont have it.

I also think it requires the telco to have deeper hooks into your device…

Here in NZ our Telco’s only started supporting it last 2 years, I had it on my iPhone but nothing on my BraX3 with same Telco - I briefly used the default Phone app, but quickly switched to Fossify Phone as much better and more synergies with Fossify Contacts app. But it is a deliberately simple app… Anyway no sign of it in either…

I just use SMS notifications.

I coukd be completely srong, BUT I doubt you’ll find any privacy focussed FOSS apps that will support that visual voicemail. Read this about what notifications allow the app provider to do (and that connected voicemail is the same thing):

How to check voice mail in this app? There is no voice mail section in the Fossify phone app?

try this:

open phone app
open key pad
press and hold the #1
It should dial up you voice mail.

That works for me on Mint Mobile and using the default phone app.

Thanks!
