AT&T 'finally' locked my brax3 out of their network

that’s it, just wanted to post this here and convey that experience.

I’d been happily using my brax3 for four months and from one minute to the next they cut my phone off. I had partial signal, meaning the phone could see the network, and I could get some very limited data in one or two apps (Google Maps was able to follow my car’s movement while I drove to the store), but no phone or SMS. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Nuthin’. I thought at first the network must have gone down. I went up to the store, they looked at my phone, said nothing’s wrong (wi-fi & bluetooth worked fine). Then they tapped in the IMEI and said, oh, this phone brand is unsupported. I told them I’ve been using this phone for the last 4 months and they said, well, it just took that long to catch up with our requirements. Want to buy a new phone? Nope! I checked on the brax.me and saw the recommendations to go with an MVNO and I also saw that Rob B said T-Mobile had ‘accepted’ (not sure if the words are correct) so I went with Mint. All my family’s phones are not at Mint, and I’m back in business.

You can try to flash an IMEI from an iPhone or Pixel or any other compatible phone that you don’t use anymore or you don’t use concurrenclty with Brax3

too late for me to try this time, plus I have no idea how to do that. Care to share the steps to do a flash to a brax3 with an IMEI from another phone?

That’s well documented on here. Search is your friend.

Changing IEMI should work. I’ve been running my Pinephone on AT&T for years now. It is also considered “not approved” and “not compatible” by AT&T, but flashing it with the IMEI from a dormant “approved” phone that I own did the trick.

These carriers are so gross.

I’m trying to help a Normie Braxme user who has a X3 on AT&T . I have not put eyes on it yet. Apparently it was fine before but now it has a black screen. Is there a easy fix or do I need to send it in for service?

What do you mean by black screen exactly? Something related to AT&T, or just the phone not working in general?

Disregard @plamen my problem was not AT&T or the X3, once I had the device in my hand it booted up just fine. These problems are often associated with Normies who are way over their head and don’t want to put in the work to improve their skills. I would be better off training a 3rd grader. Just saying, at least they are open to learning. It’s the parents that are screwing up the youth. The future generations will be zucked. God help us.
