Brax3 boot loop

I tried unlocking my bootloader according to the instructions I found here and after doing so, a boot loop started. I can’t even figure out how to force power off (holding power for a while doesn’t work). The only option I have is to go into the boot menu (power+vol up) but that doesn’t give me any help either.

I tried sp flashing according to the instructions I found here with userdata unchecked and that succeeded, yet once I powered on, the boot loop started again. So I tried again with userdata checked and it got all the way to the end (25/25, 100%) yet it said “error_msg: Unknown error occurred, please contact tool owner.” Tried that again, same error. So I unchecked it again just to get “success”, yet after each iteration I get the boot loop.

How can I fix the boot loop?

If it helps, the message I see during the boot loop is “Orange State OS Not Being Verified Or Custom OS, Dismiss After 5 Seconds” (probably normal when unlocked). And for what it’s worth, I’m using the new releaseiode-6.9-20251116-brax3).

There are several existing threads discussing this - did you try searching and checking if the responses and/or solutions in those resolved your issue?

There are probably more - that’s just what I found immediately with a very quick 2 second search (so searching with different search terms may turn up even more - it’s been discussed a lot here).

Thank you. I did search but probably didn’t search the right terms, and didn’t try hard once I found the @plamen thread about unlocking the bootloader because it addresses the boot loop. It says to do a factory reset from recovery mode (choosing recovery mode just repeated the boot loop) or flash stock firmware with spflash (which didn’t work as noted here). That thread should be updated to suggest flashing lunar and then going back to iode.

At any rate, this solved it for me. I still got the error mentioned before if I tried to update userdata, but I get success if I uncheck it, and it boots to iode. Now to see if I can successfully unlock the bootloader this time.

Thanks!

Successfully unlocked the bootloader this time. Followed the same steps as before so not sure why the 1st time caused a boot loop but I’m one step closer to rooting.

Yeah, you do need to try 2-3 different search terms or key words sometimes as there are often different references people use in their posts for stuff…

…but great it looks like you got a resolution!
