I just put a 512G card in my Brax3, seems all good. Previous phones I’ve had worked OK with a bigger SDcard than specs allow, but the card would not mount as a MTP volume. No sign of that trouble with the Brax3.
You’re lucky you can a) find, and b) afford a 512G. Down this way reliable brands are in and out of stock, and now cost half the price of the phone …
On the web it says that 256GB is the maximum size you can use if you want the card to “extend the internal file system.” 512GB will work as “secondary storage.”
Can someone clarify the differences? I’m inclined to extend the file system and just live with a unified 512GB total, but opinions welcomed.
Only my opinion (you asked 
), my experience with computer systems mounting multiple disks, and with phones that killed SD cards, tells me to use the card as “secondary” storage, and not mess with the phone’s primary storage.
My supposedly informed choice to use the microSD to “extend the file system” was based on the faith that things in the microSD slot were as good as factory installed.
Your experience proves me wrong so I’ll go your way.

Is there a way to distinguish between batch1/2025 and batch2/2026 models? I’m mainly asking because over at Other OS Options it’s mentioned the preloader differs. I’d like to confirm I do indeed have the updated model. (I can’t tell a difference in screen brightness between my 2025 & 2026 models side-by-side showing the same content, so I’ve a seed of doubt.)
