Brax3 No internet access by WiFi after update from 7.2 to 7.3

I just updated iodeOS from 7.2 to 7.3 and now WiFi no longer works. It says “Connected / No internet access” Both rebooting the phone and re-entering credentials didn’t help. Mobile data works fine. Other devices still work with WiFi. Is there any solution to this?

Do you actually lack internet ? Delete completely the access point and reconfigure it.

Mobile carrier internet works fine.

I mean can the WiFi access the internet no matter whether it says no internet?

I think I have noticed that behavior and I disable the WiFi and reenable it until the exclamation mark disappears.

Okay. I tried toggling off and on now several times, but still shows the exclamation mark.

Check the WiFi details of the phone to see whether they are correct and that you can get an IP address, then log into the router to check for errors in the log and that the phone is visible with an IP address.

The phone does have an IP address and matches what shows in the router. There are no logged errors. The phone shows in the router as offline. However, there was a brief connection where that status changed to 5G and the speed test went to very high download that only WiFi will be capable of. Only briefly though.

It’s probably some bug that appears with specific routers. I’m on 7.4 beta now.

However, the router was always working okay with the phone in OS 7.2. Thanks though. I appreciate your feedback. Hopefully someone else may have had the same issue that they found a resolution for.

They push updates every month, on version 6 they broke the WiFi because there is some problem in the firmware and it emerged in version 6.

Okay. Well it sounds hopeful. It’s strange though the updater fails to check for updates now, saying to check the internet connection and try again later, even though I running on mobile data. Another bug I wonder? Thanks.

Mine is stuck too since February 26th, I’m doing the updates manually.

Oh, okay. I guess that’s how you moved to 7.4 beta then.

Try a different router.

I was thinking that might be the case. Thanks.

When I first got the BraX3 I was having WiFi problems. My big Netgear router broadcasts WiFi to everything in my house but the BraX3. I found that if I wired a small travel router into the Netgear router that my BraX3 could get the router password to work.

I had this small $35 router that worked for WiFi and still does in iodé 7.3:

If u don’t have another router than maybe turn an old phone into a wifi hotspot!

OR make a raspberry pi into a wifi hotspot!

Thanks for your input. The travel router would be an inexpensive solution, and if it works for you it sounds like it would be worth trying.

Searching for similar problems I found that the “offline” status means that the phone doesn’t respond within 75 seconds.

You can try to factory reset the phone and at least restart the router or even try a full reset on the router.
