Can we have an update of the mediatek firmware bug and the problem with the quality of the WiFi linked to that problem Wifi quality of life on brax3 and slow wifi ?
How about e/os? (adding more words to meet the character minimum)
Any update on the current Lineage OS port for Brax3?
We’re ready with a port. We’re putting together the process so that a maintainer can take over.
It’s not in the works as far as I’m aware. Will be easier to do so once we publish LineageOS. It will be up to them after if they want to port and maintain, as it’s not really a community-driven OSS project.
Excellent. As soon as there is something workable, let me know :)
Hey Plamen.
What about Mobian? I thought I heard someone mention a meeting took place with them. Is it getting ported to Brax3?
Mobian would be a nice option. Been running it for years on my Pinephone.
I guess words fly around.
We were actually discussing a port on our next project, which will natively support Linux. We will share more details very soon. We can certainly look into a BraX3 port as well.
I installed UBtouch on my second phone. I am wondering if there is a place to report bugs etc and where things sit. Also who is developing/maintaining it ?
It’s maintained by UBports which emerged when Ubuntu (Canonical) abandoned the project.
For now you can post your feedback in the BraX3 > Ubuntu Touch category. We’re putting things together for public issue tracking on this early version.
Looks normal to me
It’s refreshing to see a project like this continue to survive all of the attacks from the big players in big technology. I actually use actively on PCs, PopOS, Mint, MX Linux, AV Linux, and Ubuntu on an ARM device. I would like to see a truly open Linux that is not tied back to a large corporation like Canonical become available for the Brax 3. I see the end of the line coming for AOSP. Therefore, I’m keen to explore a different alternative which would be a Linux distro with a usable desktop for a phone. I have a leaning towards Debian, but I’m not against the concept of fedora as well. Whilst Arch might be an option, I think it would be a little bit too tricky. Keen to know your thoughts.
How come no mention of grapheneOS at all?
they don’t want to port the OS to any other device except for Pixels because they consider the TitanM chip some ultimate feature that Brax3 doesn’t include
Soon to be on Motorola… Motorola News | Motorola's new partnership with GrapheneOS
I imagine that Motorola will be shipping it with Google Services but it would be able to be degoogled. Since they escaped the Pixel devices they can port it to Brax3 and future Brax devices much faster than to Motorola devices, I’ll be waiting to test it on my Brax3.
Does that mean that since pixel is android and degoogled, does that mean pixel is out too? Only Motorola ? Explain like I am 10.
