Please make sure you update to the latest release 20250803, which you may need to do by using another phone as a “hotspot” for the brax3, or by downloading the update to a computer and transferring to the brax3 by USB, then choosing “local update” from the Updater app.
Sadly there are other reporters saying this update does not solve their problem, so if you want to wait that is also fine. We are working on it!
I don’t speak french, but I think this is appropriate: “Zut Alors!” That means I am working with @vincent to see if there is anything he needs from our side to help re-create (and then squash) this bug once and for all!
@vincent@ericHz@guardian241@rik@3n1gma@triplef so we could not authenticate wifi at home with our Brax3 phones, but it did work on vacation at the hotel. We tried downloading the latest OTA from Aug 3 but when we got home both phones still could not connect. This is a real head scratcher…
@dpourkesali and @inframan yes, it is a bad bug. But it isn’t as simple as “wifi doesn‘t work”. Not all (not even “most”, but certainly “some”) Access Points / Routers do not connect. It is being working on now. The issue is at the Linux kernel module (integrates with the wifi chip in the brax3) level, way deeper than just iodéOS (Android is a layer on top of Linux), but as we are the first Android 15 (you want that for security) based OS with a newer underlying kernel on this chip we are seeing it before the broader open community has tackled it.
Rest assured, our lead dev is hard at work on this issue, and is reporting some progress but there is still some work to do.
Please do report your specific Router / Access Point model, etc. to this thread so I can centralize our list of non-working hardware.
Finally got my phone running today. I have had no issues with connecting to my home wifi but it is a tmobile home internet device which is nothing more than a cellphone hotspot so no help in that regard. I will try to connect to a family members wifi tomorrow and will post results.
This is for the developers - @rik
I just received my new BraX3, updated to the latest release (08/03/25), and having similar if not the same issue here as @Nefer , I can only connect to my Wi-Fi if I remove WPA2-PSK [AES] and activate WEP. I am little disappointed, but hoping that this will be fixed fast!
I do not want to operate my Wi-Fi with WEP, please get this fixed with the sense of urgency!
Let me know what info you may need to get to the bottom of this.
THX!
(Extra info added: my BraX3 starts communicating through WPA2-PSK [AES] , and fails at the Authentication process. I tried DHCP and Static IP as well, made no difference)
