From the conversations on the forum they say to activate android auto but asking me to download all these google apps, which is not possible. I just want to plug in my phone and for the waze app to come up on my car screen. The other issues is I cant switch control from ‘this device’ to the external one that is the car, just wont switch. I also tried downloading a bunch of carplay apps from the store and so far not yielding results. I would appreciate any guidance on how to get my phone waze app on the car screen?
What exactly is not possible?

I cant download the google apps not working…I’m assuming its to do with the fact that this is a privacy phone, besides I dont want google apps I just want waze

Pretty sure Waze needs Google Apps - have you installed stubs instead of the apps, as you need them regardless for AA to work.
P.S. have you checked the other existing threads about AA, as there has been quite a bit of discussion already around people with similar sorts of issues getting AA to work…?

First of all Waze is a closed-source app that tracks you and sends your data to the Waze company and all of its partners.
You can install the Google Apps, just avoid to log in to Google as much as possible.
Some apps are available as “stubs” but ask to be explained about that in the other topics.

Stub apps are a kind of interface for regular apps, ask in the other chats about Android Auto where they have posted the github links too.

Thanks I understand now, I loaded the stubs by downloading them as normal and then sending those packages to myself via telegram so I didnt bother with terminal commands and plugging my phone to the computer… I found the other conversations confusing as a lot of people were discussing it and made me impatient lol

Sorry that was a weird autocorrect on iPhone! I typed stubs and it changed it to Theuns??? I was talking about the G stubs (have corrected my original post).
