Is it possible to upgrade the cellular radio to work with Verizon?

I was curious about the issue with the Verizon network and the phone. Apparently, from what I was reading, the issue is that the phone is not able to communicate on some frequencies that Verizon uses. Is the phone modular in a way that the radio part of the phone can be replaced with an updated version that is compatible with the Verizon network like you can replace/upgrade the PCIe Wi-Fi modules on modern computers? Are there any plans to upgrade the cellular radio on this phone?

I am currently a Visible customer which is owned by Verizon. Visible is absolutely the cheapest mobile carrier with a base price of only $25 a month for truly unlimited data and also unlimited hot spot data. I would absolutely love it if I could use this phone on Verizons network!!!

You can’t change the radio modem on the device, as you asked.
The issues with Verizon are two:

  • Some bands are not supported. But most are. In general, the BraX3 will have good connectivity on Verizon network, if not for issue 2
  • Verizon is blocking service to any device that is not approved by them. They shared that they can not approve the BraX3 since it is missing some bands. They are able to validate a device model by the device IMEI. If you have a Verizon compatible device, you can write its IMEI to the BraX3 device so that Verizon won’t block you.
