Hi, I have just received a brand new Brax3. I am in Auckland, New Zealand.
Inserted a new sim card, but it would not make or receive calls. It does send and receive text messages though. When i go into settings, i can see that the carrier network is recognised, but the sim1 part of settings shows empty line instead of the number.
This is the second Brax3 phone that i purchased. The first one (received in August last year (2025)) worked with the same carrier from the get go, no issues whatsoever.
I took out the sim from the old Brax3 (which works fine) and put it in to the new one. Same issue, no calls.
Maybe i need to change something in the phone settings?
I have exactly the same issue. I received my new Brax3 only a week ago. Almost everything else works but the Calls app (phone) does not. Will not make or receive calls. I thought perhaps it was a security configuration issue but I cannot see anything that is amiss there.
I just attempted to uninstall and reinstall the Calls app (that can apparently be done with a reboot/restart in between. This still didn’t work.
I then made sure ALL permissions possible were added. Attempting to call still failed and brought up an error message about 2G. I attempted again and it called but the call lasted only a few seconds and died. I attempted again and it said “server not found”.
That gave me an idea. I turned off wi-fi so that I was only operating over 5G (via the sim).
Then when trying to call it worked. And kept working. However, still no-one can call be back. They just immediately go to voicemail (and it doesn’t even ring on my phone).
So progress but there’s definitely a bug here and I’d like to know who can help and what can be done. Is there any diagnostics suite that can be loaded. And is this potentialy and iodeOS issue or is it the physical phone / drivers?
I had a similar issue and found that in settings - Network & Internet - SIMs - “Your Telco network”, Mine is CC Network - VoLTE needs to be on. Once I did that, I could make and receive calls. Tested with it off and was able to duplicate the issue.
Yes iodeOS team got back to my support request and pointed out the APN name settings.
Once I got that setup, I can now send and receive 5G calls but wi-fi calls still don’t work at all.
At least I have functionality now as I’ve set calls to use 5G only and that works. But it’s very sad that Wi-Fi calls don’t work. So is this a hardware issue then???
I’m using amaysim - which is part of the Optus Network in Australia - so maybe Optus are an issue also?
