The pre-installed text ap on Brax3 will not send photos even though it allows photos to be selected and instructed to be sent. What is seen in the conversation is each photo with the word “sending” below or above each picture, I can’t figure out which. This status has remained for days, 7+ now. Written text still is getting transmitted but not the photos.
Does anybody have a suggestion how to fix this since Brax does not offer any customer support after you get your new phone?
Such an unprofessional company, but sadly I have to deal with it, or throw the phone away and go back to and android phone which I am trying to get away from using with Google’s interference.
Not sure what support your lacking as your here and this is where you ask about problems and things.
The problem sounds like your “cell APN data settings” are not correct or you might not have “data turned on” in the settings or the “picture size” is too large.
With no Google or RCS, you can only send “small” pics and videos with the normal messaging app. You have to use Signal or Whatsapp and similar to be able to send like you were used to on a normal Android phone.
Is your cell data working for browsing with wifi off?
This is easy to check, just turn wifi off and use the browser to go to any site. If this works then try the next step else you might need to fix your APN settings depending on your carrier.
Next step is also easy to try. If not working to send any pictures at all, go into the settings in the messaging app and change “Resize send MMS images” to 600k. If yours is set high or on unlimited it will not work at all.
If you can send data with wifi off and set the picture limit to 600k, it should work.
This happens periodically to me. Often specific people can’t receive, while others have no issue getting pics. I DO NOT KNOW WHY. Yes it is annoying. It did help to reduce size. I have Atnt in the mountains. When I travel to other areas more pics seem to seamlessly get to the recipient. Again this is cause and affect. I do not understand why but guess it has something to do with connecting thru other carrier towers??
Here in the group IS your support. I say “gently”, you decided to try an experimental phone, so take responsibility for that. We all have, in order to support “independent provider of privacy based phones” and ride it thru the rough spots. Yes it can be frustrating. But u can sell it off and go back to a Normy phone if u don’t feel u have the patience or maybe work priority’s make it too difficult to ride it out.

If u have not, (someone chime if Im missing something ) If you did not disable the texting on your old phone first, before moving Sim to Brax this could also be a unusual hiccup. Or just worth trying I think I put Sim back in old phone and disabled it? Or I just got online and disable the feature.
On my old apple phone, I had to do that and then pics started sending and being received from Brax. Hope this helps!
This is advice I got last year, from one of the very helpful community members.
In my situation I started with a new Brax phone, new sim card, new phone number, new service provider so that nothing came from my old phone, or could be traced back to my old phone.
Therefore it is a problem within my Brax phone or their software that manages it.
Did you try the 2 things I suggested? Its the easiest way to tell what is going on, if its your data setup in the phone or the size in the messaging app. Should only take a minute to test both and then you know where to look.
New or old you still have to test the same way as even brand new setups will have the same problems I am mentioning.
You sent me two solutions to try 4 days ago. That would be Friday. (I wish programmers would use actual dates to make these notes better able to track.)
Today is Monday 8/31/26.
I passed the first solution. My internet works without Wifi on.
On the second solution I went into settings and searched for “messaging app” and it could not find it. It only showed that I was using TMobile. So I don’t think I can change the outgoing picture size to 600 whatevers, in the way my phone is set up now. Or at least I don’t know how to find the messaging app. Is this something I have to add to my phone. A messaging app?
Thanks for your “gentle” advice. I am used to making things happen in the different companies I have owned in my past. Then if thing don’t work you make a adjustment and keep moving forward.
I know with this new phone, and we are some of the first to use it, it is going to be challenging to for them and us to get all the bugs out. I nievely thought Brax would have some interest in helping us since it is their phone we are trying to make work. But their only interest is in sales. There they offer customer support. Here we users have to figure it out on our own, and this frustrates me enormously. This abandonment would never happen in any of my companies.
Fortunately I have kept my Samsung Android phone operating as usual so that I have a fully operational phone all the times. And someday, IF I get comfortable and confident that this Brax phone will work for me, then I will consider smashing my Android phone. But probably I won’t do this. I will use both phone in the specific ways that they will help me. I will see as this journey continues.
Thanx for the shared thoughts. I too am still using two phones. The frustration at times is maddening. I live off grid in the mountains. A working phone is a must. Sending pics for example or getting directions to locations is non negotiatiable for getting supplies and asking questions etc. But I have been following Brax for awhile. So I knew what the process would be.
That said, I did/do hope it improves. I do understand where u are coming from. There is truth in your feedback, there could be great improvement made to help buyers with their products, no argument there.
Being a entrepreneur at this scale in the current environment we live, geopolitics/trade and all… I can’t even image how one successfully navigates and survives innovation in the tech world. So, I am grateful Brax is making the attempt, flaws and all.
I want to chime in on this. I haven’t been able to send videos from day of 2025. I have already changed my settings in the app to 600kb but I still am unable to send pics nor videos. I can receive blurry videos from everyone else, and clear pictures from everyone else. But sending any thing has been a no go. I’ve already talked with T-Mobile, already switched my sim, changed sizes of messages. Etc.
This is an old story, started from the beginnings of the Brax3 phone. Myself and my wife both have the brax3 phones,had them for a year now. We tried everything to fix the SMS/MMS problems with the included messaging app. We even tried a few other apps, most did not work, until I discovered the Chomp messaging app on APKPure. That app ticks all the boxes and it makes my wife happy,(happy wife,happy life). Not sure about the security and privacy aspect of the Chomp app, but it works, and it can be customized to your liking. Try it, it may help you like the Brax3 phone and help ditch the Samsung.

Old story indeed, let me say, I’m happy with the privacy aspect and encryption anti google of brax3. But my wife doesn’t want to switch until she can send pics and videos and have them received as well (go figure right). Anyway that’s why I’ve been looking for this solution. I’ve downloaded several camera apps to try to see which one can send video, to no avail. The apps were all privacy based (Which is good) just no resolve I will try the app you mentioned as I’m always looking for suggestions. Thanks.
I’m still at iode 6.6. Let that be known first. But I run Fosify for my messaging app and the picture file size is set to 1MB. Once in a while, I will have a picture not go through, but if I set the phone to airplane mode and then back on after, usually the photo will push. I believe that I did have it set to 600KB but went back because the recipient needed better resolution of the images I was sending. I often will send pics of printed sequences that people have to read. I forgot about that setting being left at 1MB until I read this thread, honesty. I also have some other settings where I need them for certain apps to work and I have a dual SIM setup, so that’s why I haven’t upgraded my firmware. But maybe try Fosify as well.
