WiFi updates. Will we get an email when it's fixed?

I’m one of the many who can’t connect to home WiFi. I also don’t have access to the router where I live so can’t try that troubleshooting approach.
I’m wondering if we’ll all get an email update when this issue is resolved?
I don’t want to have to keep checking every thread daily for updates.

No real way of saying. @LostEther stated they were reporting the issue since beta tests. Seems like @rik is helping with the chart, but no real way of saying.

Hi @magical7787, the issue is being investigated, but saying when it will be resolved is complicated. Rather than an email, what @plamen can probably do as the community admin is send a notice to everyone and create a thread with the steps to follow as soon as the iodeOS team releases the solution.

I have my phone on the way and I don’t know what I’ll find when I receive it! I’m crossing my fingers really tightly! Best regards.

What kind of computer do you have! A trick you can try is to connect to WiFi with a computer, and then share that to a connection the brax can connect to.

Good idea, I’ll try.

I too am still having issues connecting to my WPA2 WiFi and have to open up a non secured connection just to download updates. I have this issue still on my Beta phone and on my newly delivered purchased phone as well. I have tried all of the secure methods on my WiFi router and none of them connect. It is an older Asus router, so maybe that is where the issue is in an older version of WPA, I am not certain as I do not know much about WPA.

Please report your iodéOS version and your router details here:

At the bottom is a post abou a new beta you can try if you want to be a tester, or wait for feedback on it.

I am using the Asus AC1900 myself with all current firmware installed and up to date.

You have tried the 2025-08-11 beta release? Details to install and test here

Good Morning rik. I did update the firmware prior to testing for you again. It was updated on 8/12/2025 and is current and up to date. 2.470

Is your device the Asus RT-AC1900P? @blueduck has that version and I want to check before adding a separate entry to the list.

I used my current cell phone hotspot connection to connect to wifi for initial setup but still no connection on a netgear 6700 v3

My Brax3 went back into the box, waiting for this fix, as I intended to use it without a SIM card - using only WiFi - but I’ve seen nothing about how or if we will be notified, if and when the problem is ever fixed. Zzzzzzz…

The whole project is a flop at Best or scam at worst. I’ve sent mine back for a refund, now they’re delaying refunding.

I’ve watched and appreciated so many of Rob’s videos that I’ve come to trust him - and I’m not one to be a silly “fan” of anyone.

So… I’m going to hang in there, with the Brax3 stored in its box, perhaps for a few more weeks - unwilling to buy a new router, as that’s not going to do me any good when I’m traveling - with hit-or-miss WiFi connectivity.

But… It would be “nice” if a team member would simply be transparent as to the efforts currently underway (to fix the WiFi issue), sharing the game plan, the obstacles, the 3rd party dependencies, etc. - posting regular updates.

Right now, except for Rik’s posts, it feels as if the principal parties are “detached.”

Oh Rob, where art thou!

There’s some relevant info in this thread starting from this post if people aren’t aware of it:

Hopefully we get an answer on this. I live in a remote area and cellphone reception has both hot area and barely any signal levels. To solve this issue i use Home internet which does not restrict data. I run three different wireless routers with MIMO antennas in different zones as well as a few Point to Point 5G Wireless Access points each with their own WIFI areas. I also multiplex the Et0 signals through my AC power lines. In this way when I use Smartphones in my area (5 acres) I can get good communication via WIFi without being forced to use “mobile data” which can get expensive fast. It is a cool set up. I have over a dozen cameras running 24/7 on WIFI. My local LANS take the pressure of the cell network and I get surprisingly good results. FYI I have Netflix also available 24/7. I don’t think this system could work in the city. Most of my neighbors are either goats, cows or chickens and they don’t use smartphones…Yet. Before T Mobile put in a tower I was forced to use a high gain antenna ( 13 element Yagi with RF preamp) to get my internet via a gas station public WAN 1 mile away.

I’m not going to elaborate… but maybe @LostEther has some input…
