Brax3 stuck in enless loop

This is the one to use if you are in the bootloop and can’t get into recovery mode. Windows works when you run spflash as admin and do away with all USB restrictions… i was so worried that i had faulty hardware. I did it by following the directions to the t. Just orient yourself first by reading through the similar situations and know that it works.
spflash ends with an error message after it’s completed. This made me think it had failed but it was totally successful.
Thanks to iode’ for the neatly downloadable package!

I have the same issue and I don’t wanna risk brick my device. Can please someone help?

I simplified the instructions a bit for using SP Flash (from Linux or Windows) on this post. The “Firmware Update” option will completely reset the device, the “Download Only” option will allow you to keep your userdata if you untick the box next to it.

Can you explain if this just started boot looping when using it, or instead did you install an update that caused the issue?

It worked fine for a couple minutes, I used it a bit and then left it. When I took it again it was on the loop

If you are willing please try to use SP Flash Tools (Linux or Windows - as I linked above also), using the Firmware Update option for the most comprehensive reflashing.

If this is beyond you, you may need to contact support for a replacement.

I followed all the steps but in the end this message appeared: Unknown error ocurred, please contact the tool owner. The phone went back to the loop

Same problem here. Rik from iode sent me to Brax customer service, but Rob says we need to seek help here. I am now stuck in two endless loops. Meanwhile, no phone, no idea what is going on, no idea what to do…

It worked for me but I broke it in the first place by playing around in Linux and unlocking the bootloader - not knowing that would wipe ALL data as a security feature.

Just a hunch, but I may have been lucky in that I did the unlock bootloader because that is required for the spflash to apply the full restore package.

The point is if a braX3 goes into endless loop without unlocking the bootloader due to the update or something else than the firmware can’t be flashed. Unless the bootloader is automatically unlocked and the data is wiped, therefore. Which would make the security feature faulty.

I feel like, in the cases where endless loop just goes because of an update or something else without first manually unlocking the bootloader than the data should still be there and the only hope is to go the recovery mode route or the fast boot route through the bootloader menu because the bootloader is still locked, no?

What’s troubling is the fact that the braX3 seems to go unrecognised through USB to the PC when in the endless loop either way - and if the bootloader remained locked (which it should for privacy and security) then the only solution would be to go through the bootloader menu. If that is wonky, it needs to be addressed ASAP with brax and MTK otherwise it may prove to be the Achilles Heel of the phone.

Did you try the recovery mode in the bootloader menu?

It was the first thing I tried

What am I supposed to do now? I have sent an email to the support, but received an automatic answer directing me back to the forum…

Brax != Braxtech. As I understand, Braxtech (this forum and sellers of the brax3) are their own company. This is why Rob or others as Brax.me will say to contact Braxtech at their email [email protected] or here on the forum.

Since you have done the full SP Flash Firmware Update process, and are still in a bootloop, I do think you have a hardware fault. Did the email auto-reply say that your message wasn’t delivered, or instead that it would be processed but for a faster response to come here?

Unfortunately, I don’t work for Braxtech, I can’t help any beyond what other users here can.

I have already sent an email to [email protected], and immediately received an auto-reply stating that all support-related questions need to be addressed to this forum. So I guess there is no tech support, save the potentially disasterous advice of random strangers on an internet forum?

I think they mean “how do I?” support questions should go here (rightly so, or else it just duplicates all the communication). For a hardware issue, I saw @plamen telling people to email [email protected].

Hey @rik I really apreciate you help

I wouldn´t say full SP process, as mentioned before a message appears saying: Unknown error ocurred, please contact the tool owner.
Is there anything else that I could try?

The email says to post our query in this Community Forum

That message seems “normal”, from what you describe I think you followed the steps right. There has been at least one other with the reboot loop as well, I really think there may be some possible hardware issue with the flash storage (???) :frowning:

Do we have any idea how long the reboot/reinstall process should take after flashing the new OS? I tried once again to reboot the phone have been on the iode splash screen for 14 hours. Clearly something is not working properly, yes?

It should be only a few minutes. I didn’t understand if you re-ran the full SP Flash Firmware Update process? I think you should try that again from scratch to confirm, but then when it gets to the iode spash screen do give it several minutes (certainly not more than ??15 minutes??).

If it remains stuck there, I think this is also another hardware issue (that is the best guess I can provide).
