Can't access my home wifi with my new Brax!

Me too  The .apk itself isn’t too large, but you can do either (download on PC and USB transfer or just download on phone).

When you tap to open the .apk it will prompt you.

There is no advanced tab, and the only other possible selection is “open network” which is far too insecure.

no I am not mixing up

Okay. Thanks for answering. It may give me some idea what to expect in the future when uninstalling updates.

I downloaded the file. I plugged in my phone. It doesn’t ask for permission to connect. All it says is “charging”. What do I do to get these to connect and transfer files?

It appears to mount on my Linux file explorer because there is an eject button next to the device listing. When I click on the Brax3 device, no files are listed and no exploring is allowed.

Tap that “Charging over USB” notification on your phone. A selection list will pop up, then select “File Transfer”. Now looking at your file browser you will see the actual phone storage.

Security and convenience are always at odds with each other!

Okay, I found the option to transfer files. I transferred the beta updater to the download folder on my phone. I used My Files app to touch the file in the attempt to activate/install it. No luck. So I opened the updater app and touched “local update” on the menu. The next dialog appears to be a file browser/selector but there are no files listed. How to proceed from here?

More detail needed. What happens when you tap the .apk from the “Files” app on your phone?

I just installed the beta update and I still could not connect to WiFi. I have a Netgear nighthawk AC1900 modem\router (c7000v2). Tried WPA2-PSK (AES) and WPA-PSK (TKIP) + WPA2-PSK (AES). Should I uninstall the beta updater? Thanks.

If you uninstall the beta updater then you’d need to reinstall it the next time an OTA becomes available (I believe anyway), so not much point because you’d be wasting more data.

Just confirming, you don’t have WPA3 as an option there?

I do not. Should I delete the beta updater?

There was no response initially. I tried it again and it said I need to change settings. Settings changed and file is installed. Next option was to open the app or done. I selected done. Now if I reboot the phone, it should reboot the updater as well, correct? Then reattempt update. Then reattempt connection. Then report.

Yes that will do it, but you should just be able to “Force Stop” Updater app and relaunch. If you see “iodeOS beta” at the top, then just pull down to refresh and the update should appear.

You can stay on the beta updater if you want to try newer beta releases until this issue is resolved, or if you want to wait for others to confirm fixes before you try again, then uninstall the update to the Updater app and you will only be notified of stable updates.

Will do. Thanks. I’m thinking about just getting a new modem\router. It’s probably time anyways. Is there something specific I should look for when buying a new one so the brax3 will connect? Thanks for the help

Just so you know, I just got a brand new router to replace my old one (9 years old) and it made no difference. It could be because it is still only WPA2-personal. No way of knowing since I can’t get WPA3 on the router.

Well that’s the problem, there isn’t a definitive list of devices that do or don’t work :frowning: I haven’t solicited input for “successful users” but a few have contributed to it here: Brax3 wifi connection issues chart

:green_circle: devices are working.
