How to question

How do you save pictures to Gallery from text and email?
How do you get BLE Radar to work?
Will probably be asking more questions

Search is your friend - for saving attachments for example:

I can especially recommend using the Fossify suite (Messenger, Files, etc) and Save Locally.

See also my post here that might help as a starting point also about good initial apps to start with:

:slightly_smiling_face:

BLE Radar was discussed here - it’s reportedly pretty straight forward to use (just need to note the permissions thing about running in the background):

didn’t find any answers about how to make the BLE Radar work. when I click scan a black screen comes and goes in like a half a second.

why would one install features that don’t offer all the options one is used to coming from other platforms? why would one then need to install a different application to make it do what one is used to? I’m not tech savvy in any way. I expect things to work simply when it comes to normal uses. Like why would Brax, or whoever, install a function that does not offer functions people are used to coming from other platforms (like Apple). Sorry if I sound ignorant, which I am when it comes to computers/fancy phones.

I use Fossify for photos and sms. If someone sends me a photo, i can press and hold the photo, as it displays in the text, and a ā€˜save’ icon appears at the top of the photo. Press that, and choose which album to save to. Not sure if that helps?

thanks, will look into that. like I said before I am totally at a loss when it comes to tech.

when I press and hold on the picture it does not give me a save icon? it gives me option to share and other things. I press on the picture and the picture opens up in it’s own ā€œpage?ā€ there are no options to save to anywhere, just share.

Thats odd. And i checked again on my phone and it did as you suggest - just share etc. But the next few photos i checked gave me the option to save. I’d say 80% gave me a save icon. I really dont know why they arent all the same.

I think both of the senders on my phone use an iphone, so the photos should be the same format etc. Im really sorry i cant be of more help.

The only workaround i can think of, is to open the picture, and then press the square button at the bottom right of yoir screen. This will reduce the size of the photo, and bring up a screenshot button. Press this button, and the photo will dave in your screen shot album. Certainly not ideal.

As per my prior post…

Save Locally will resolve that issue and add a Save As function into the Share menu…

Also have you installed Fossify File Manager? You both likely are getting the inconsistencies if you have Fossify Messages and Gallery and don’t have Fossify File Manager as well to tie them together…

There’s been numerous reports of this issue by users initially with the (out of the box) default File Manager and Fossify Messages (which is the default messaging app).

I downloaded Fossify File Manager. I click on picture from a text and get the following; upper right corner three dots: Open with/show on map. the bottom right squigly thing I get Sharing image: no recommended people to share with; and below that I have a number of icons that have nothing to do with any of my picture folders. Again, I don’t see any save to anywhere options?

When you click on a photo within a text, there is a share (wishbone shape) at the bottom. Click on that, and various options as to where you can share the image pop up. Fossify file manager is one of those. Click on that, and a list of folders should appear for you to save the picture in (eg dcim, pictures etc. ). When you go to the gallery that picture should be there.

here is the step by step I do to try and save a picture from a text to the Fossify Gallery;
click on image; go to bottom right to the share(?) icon; sharing image comes up and I select Fossify file manager; then select a folder; I select pictures; says select folder-then has a internal>pictures and then screen shots and the picture I selected; then at bottom is a plus sign and a cancel and a OK: when I select ok it saves to file: if I select + a create new folder opens. that picture still doesnt show up in Fossify Galery.

Hi. You might want to check the following:

Hidden Files:
Are your images visible in a file manager but not in Fossify Gallery, they may be set as hidden. Check the settings in your file manager to reveal hidden files.

Correct Permissions:
Ensure that Fossify Gallery has permission to access all files. Go to your device settings and adjust the app permissions to allow access to all photos and videos.
Settings > Apps > Gallery > Click on Permissions
