No 5g on ATT (Patriot mobil) but fine when same sim put back in pixel

SO we have several DE googled pixel 6a from Brax, work fine but wanted to try brax3, purchased one, placed sim from pixel into brax3 phone. has iode os, does not ever get ATT 5G on phone, however, take sim out place back into pixel and it gets 5g as normal. Any help ?

Try swiping down from top of main menu to go to notifications. Look on top for “Internet” bar and click on that. Tap on the ATT sim card to see if it will connect.

Worth a try.

Greetings my friend, thanks for responding. I tried to following your directions, but under notifications, no internet bar. We do see its connected to ATT, just always LTE and not 5G, however, same sim slipped into the pixel, we get 5G. Maybe phone is defective ?

It’s not a defect, no.
The BraX3 is not yet officially approved by AT&T. Feedback is inconsistent - for some customers AT&T works, for some it won’t.
If you’d like to stick to AT&T and use your BraX3, the most reliable option at this stage is to, you can write your AT&T compatible device’s (pixel) IMEIs to the BraX3 device so that AT&T won’t block service to your BraX3.

Plamen, you are absolutely on my Hero’s list today. I was under the understanding that the phone was approved by everyone except Verizon , so with your response, it makes sense.
I have 2 questions,

  1. is it legal to take a ime number and change it ?
  2. is this something I can find out how to do here or on yourube ? I am ignorant about these things.
and again, THANK YOU SOOOoo much !

It is legal almost everywhere. Legal in the US as long as you don’t specifically do that to facilitate illegal activities.

We’ve developed articles on how to do it. Here is the article.
Since iodeOS (the OS we ship with), currently doesn’t work with the SN Writer tool, you will need to first install LunarOS, change the IMEI and then install back iodeOS.

If you haven’t done any of the steps, it may take a bit to do it the first time. But once you’ve set up the prerequisites, you can do these operations quickly next time around.

alot to digest, I have a brax phone (Pixel ) where the phone failed as far as hooking up with carrier, i purchased another and it works fine. so I use the old one to play with, I installed graphine, caylx os, linage os all with no issues, so this probably wouldnt be a big deal either, however, as my wife pointed out, we just got the brax phone and would like to “Enjoy it” for awhile before doing os updates/changes etc. (If we like it she will be getting one also), so I think Ill just deal with LTE for now. I also saw Rob mention possible linage (If I spelled that right) in the future. Wonder if this would take care of that issue. anyway, Im really thankful for your help, and keeping links above so that if/when I need to do this I will have a guide. Patriot Mobile has been very good to me (ATT) for the past 5 years, and in the boonies where I live, ATT is the one you can actually get in your house (No t mobil, verizion etc) so its really the only option today.
