@Beginner I had the same Wi-Fi connection issue with my Brax3 I received back in September. As soon as the fix for this problem was released in 6.9 version of the OS last month, I purchased a $10 Acer USB-C to Ethernet Adapter from Amazon, connected the phone directly to my TP-Link router using an Ethernet cable, and used the updater App to download and install the 6.9 OS. After reboot my Brax3 connected to Wi-Fi with no problem. The entire process took less than 10 minutes.
Thank you for the interesting tidbit @J.D.Laub. So this isn’t necessary affecting anything then? I don’t have to do anything about that?
OK, @dpourkesali, that sounds do-able, easy enough. I’ll have to order one of those adapters, too. Thank you for that suggestion! I’ll let you know how I succeeded.
Oops! Typo: So this isn’t NECESSARILY affecting anything then?
@Beginner You’re welcome. Hope it works out for you as easy as it did for me.
Here is the Amazon link for that adapter: Amazon.com: Acer USB C to Ethernet Adapter, Plug and Play RJ45 to Type C Network Dongle(Thunderbolt 3/4 Compatible), 1Gbps Aluminum USB-C LAN Adapter for Laptop, MacBook Pro/Air, iPad Pro, iPhone 15/16, Dell XPS : Electronics
@dpourkesali Yup, I found it, too, the exact same one. Thanks for the link, so I could be sure. Now I can order it (although, I’ll ask my son if he might have one that I can borrow . . . not that it’s expensive, but why buy duplicates). New hope, I can hardly wait to try this!

@Mycenius Oh, sorry! Believe it or not, I’ve never posted on a public forum before; this is my first time. There’s a lot I still have to learn. But thank you for pointing it out; I see now where it is possible to edit a posting. I’m a little nervous here, so I make stupid errors in my typing or wording. (Like the embarrassing mistake I made in my very first post above: Abstruct, instead of Obstruct
Oh, brother!) I thought once I hit the Reply button, that my post is sent and out of my further control.
Dont be sorry, just giving you a heads up…

One of the problems with forums is you end up wirh high numbers of unnecessary or superfluous posts which makes the useful content harder to find i.e. signal to noise ratio gets really bad. The three easiest solutions are:
- people actually searching for solutions before posting to start with (as issues are rarely unique and someone else will have nearly always already asked the same question - so doesn’t need a new thread started),
- Not going OT (off topic) and filling a thread with unrelated info,
- And editing replies, etc, (whether for typos/corrections or to add PS comments) rather than adding more posts…
As an aside if you are new have you seen this thread:
OK, @Mycenius, I always love to learn, and what you said makes perfect sense, so at least I’m learning the ropes now.
Thank you for explaining.
OK, @dpourkesali, I followed your instructions and got excited when I saw the update to version 7.0 show up immediately. But when I tapped on that notification, the next thing it tells me is: “Update blocked. This update cannot be installed using the updater app. Please read https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/brax3/upgrade/ for more information.” Tapping on that link, it tells me: “Page Not Found” and that I should try searching for it. Well, double checked it on my laptop, and sure enough, doesn’t exist. In fact, when searching for brax from that homepage, it’s not even found; it’s not listed among the devices they are compatible with! What’s going on?
@Beginner Yes, I did see post a week or so ago about the new version 7 release of iodeOS and have not so far updated my BraX3 with it but eventually have to. Apparently it requires to update the App updater first. Instructions are posted here:
@dpourkesali OK, I FINALLY was able to update to version 7!
I guess I just missed the narrow window for getting the 6.9 version, because by the time I could get the USB-C to Ethernet adapter, the latest version advanced from 6.9 to 7.0, which then came with its own new issue of needing to update the updater, temporarily, to be downdated later. OK, nothing too terrible, I succeeded with that. But now, playing around, I’m discovering that e.g. I can listen to the FM Radio app, but I still get the “Looks like there’s a problem with your internet connection” screen when trying to use the browser. If I use the Ethernet cable plugged into the router, as when I updated the iodé version, I can use the browser and download apps from F-droid, but not without it. So I guess this means that I have wifi but I still don’t have an internet connection. So what’s my next step?
@Beginner After updating to OS 7.0, did you go to the settings and setup your WiFi connection? FM radio app doesn’t require internet connection, the phone is using your headset wire as antenna to tune into local stations.
OK, of course that would need to be done again after the update–silly me (my brain has been on overload with all the learning and I was getting tired). . . . But . . . I think (albeit, cautiously) . . . things are working . . . and I can finally hit the gold button . . . SOLVED!
YIPPEE!!! THANK YOU so much @dpourkesali! And to all the others who tried to help with their comments! I greatly appreciate it! Have a great day! @Beginner signing out.
