Well, it happened again by following the directions to use SPFlash in Linux. Going from Ubuntu Touch back to iode’ and choosing Firmware Upgrade deleted my IMEIs for the second time. I’ve restored them before and made some good notes that I will follow:
Have you found a way to SPFlash in linux without losing IMEIs?
No and I think the Linux version of SPFlash corrupts things going from UT back to iodé. I will quickly fix this and find out by using the windows version of SPFlash!
I keep getting FAIL. I followed this tutorial SN_Writer has:
This is the error message. I’m using the same version of SN_Writer and the same AP database files as last month. Any idea what the errors at the bottom of this screenshot mean?
EDIT:
Also the bootloader is unlocked and USB debugging is enabled. I first did this and verified the device:
adb devices
Fixed…again! We should have an instructions page for how to go from Ubuntu Touch back to iode’ without wiping your IMEIs if it is possible…every time I’ve tried, SPFlash wipes my IMEIs but maybe it is because I used the Linux version.
Here is what I did to get the IMEIs back this time. Last time I read somewhere that u should disable a PIN code on the lockscreen. So I did that. I also picked the format option in SPFlash and wiped everything…this removed the serial number. Then I read this guide again on changing your IMEIs:
I then tried a different USB port (one by the power supply seems to work).
I unlocked the bootloader again which may have not been needed. I also did adb devices and made sure the device would accept a connection from my Windows mini PC. Then SN_Writer gave me this:
I think Linux people should be using fastboot to install iodé. They only have SPFlash and OTA files for 7.2 and 7.3. Can fastboot install SPFlash files?
SPFlash does work well in Linux with Lunar OS. I get a success confirmation there but not with iodé!![]()
I’m thinking that if u use Linux to leave Ubuntu Touch and go back to Android that u should first go back to Lunar OS using SPFlash.
