Unable to connect to wifi

I recieved two new Brax phones recently and tried to set them up. I am unable to connect to the wifi. I understand the wifi connection has been a problem for many people. I have tried restarting the router and the phone multiple times. I continue to get the message - " Could not connect to Wi-Fi network." I have a NETGEAR44 router. I don’t see that on the list in the BRAX Community page, but there are several other NETGEAR versions listed that have red dots so I’m assuming the NETGEAR routers are not compatible.
My current phone is a Verizon so I can’t use the Sim card from it.
So, the phone is a paperweight right now.
I’m not willing to purchase another plan from another carrier or a new router for a phone that I can’t get to work on my existing wifi.
I’m not willing to reconfigure my router because I have no experience and if I mess it up my .neither my husband nor I will be able to work.
I would prefer to just return the phones.

You may be able to plug in directly to your router with an ethernet cable using a USB-C to ethernet adapter. One was mentioned in another thread (which has closed). I bought it and haven’t got it working yet. This workaround has been mentioned in other threads so I am hopeful that someone will chime in to recommend a compatible adapter and any other helpful information.

There are at least two other chats for this topic, developers reckon that a fixing update might drop in 2 weeks.

You can fix Verizon by flashing an IMEI of a phone that was working and you are not using now or you don’t use it concurrently with Brax3

For the time being there are several ways to use the WiFi

  1. use WPA3 if available on the router
  2. open WiFi+VPN+MAC filtering
  3. plug a router that works on the other router
  4. buy a powerline or extender that works with Brax3, preferably a WPA3 capable

Had the same issue. I was using a wifi box that I had to pay monthly for so I bit the bullet and got a new, relatively cheap wifi box from Amazon

Did no configuration of it, and it worked fine. It should pay for itself in 9 months.
