OK. I see there is a solution. But could someone tell me what “ADB” is and how do I get it? Upon further reading it looks a solution was found in beta testing and a formal update via the updater will be forthcoming very soon for us non tech people.
Great! It looks all I have to do is wait for the formal update as I am not knowledgeable on this.
This is correct, yes.
Thank you! It’s working here, ASUS RT-AC68U. Thanks to all who figured it out.
We can consider that the wifi issue is resolved in iode OS version 6.9-20251116.
An OTA update with the version is getting pushed tomorrow to all devices.
There were many firsts for iode with the brax3 - first time working with mediatek chip, first time not starting with a LOS port, etc. etc. But they pulled it off.
Thank you all who helped resolve the issue whether through development, providing feedback, testing new builds, or simply nudging

I updated to iode 6.9-20251111-brax3, then I tried Method 1 (ADB) posted by boo in post 456; but it did not work. My router is ASUS RT-AC66U B1, firmware 3.0.0.4.386_51733. I see that an OTA update will be posted tomorrow, so I’ll try that when it arrives.
Update: I updated my router to the latest firmware, 3.0.0.4.386_52062-g06fe188, but it still doesn’t work.
I’d be keen to help, have lots of experience around linux networking stack and wpa_supplicant right down to kernel module level support. But I need a device. I’m still waiting for you to sort my orders. PM me!
As noted above, iodé 6.9 20251111 does not contain the fix and “method 1” from boo also doesn’t fix it. The OTA update with the fix is being distributed tomorrow, hang tight!
Problem is solved! OTA hotfix releasing tomorrow
4 posts were split to a new topic: iodeOS 7.0 update blocked
Thanks for finally bringing transparency. You see, the problem came from what we suspect all along and the solution was in the end in the code itself. and we did not have the need to make move the mtk engineers (way longer process) in the end.
Maybe that can be a lesson for the future.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation across other setups.
As noted, there is a Mediatek driver bug here, it still would be very important if they could solve it. But as it stands, a custom patch to wpa_supplicant is needed to disable muti_akmso every ROM is going to need to do this or it will have the same authentication issues. Better if Mediatek fix it proper if Braxtech has any communication channels with them to make this point clear.
Arris model NVG443B is now working after 6.9 20251116. Thank you
Just installed the update and connected to wifi! I was sooo close to placing an order for another phone to degoogle myself (and return brax3 for a refund) when the announcement from @plamen was made. I’m glad it didn’t come to that. Funny thing is I still have yet to charge the phone once. It was at 64% after installing the update. That’s how little I’ve messed with the phone due to the wifi bug. Now I can actually start using it!
Brax3’s wi-fi finally works on my D-Link router. Thanks for fixing it.
Now what do I do with this thing?
I don’t think there is a FAQ for that one!
Just to say a Big “Thank you” to all devs that have been involved on this fix. Now my Brax3 just connects like a charm to my home “Salt.” access point! ![]()
WiFi calling now working with iodéOS7.0 great work thanks
Me too I will test as mine is setting in the box waiting on another os.
6.9 seems to have fixed things for me! Fantastic work everyone! Thanks! I never doubted a fix would come.
